Until and unless the documents are declassified, it's all supposition. Though I do know Mr. Levin, and tend to trust him, so I suspect he will be proved right if the documents are released.
 
I'm sure when we finally find out what is in those two (2 documents out of how many thousands?!?!) CIA documents we will see why Cheney asked for them, specifically to be declassified. There is something in them that keeps them classified, and he knows it.

How do you know Levin isn't lieing to save his ass? DOn't you think the people who are currently in power(who isn't cheney, as of Jan. 20), WOULD have every reason to lie?

I say we should look at them ourselves. No reason to trust Cheney or Levin now.

So, for those people in the rest of the world, and some here in the US, when they think of the US and torture, they think of the images from Abu Ghraib. It's not fair, it's not right, but some people do think of us kinda like you think of Mr Levin.

By the way, I know Carl Levin, and I would not describe him as either "moron" or "liar".

Cheney use to live down the street from me in Highland Park Texas. He claimed he lived in Wyoming though during the election.

Carl Levins offensive reference to Abu Ghraib was a partisan political effort to connect the ILLEGAL actions there and the LEGAL actions of "enhanced" interrogation methods which we KNOW had been briefed to Congress by the CIA.

It is a pathetic partisan trick and represents the tiny thug mentality of a party so desperate for power they are willing to put the citizens of this nation at risk and in a bad light in an effort to publicly impugn their political opponents.

Did the participants in Abu Ghraib not get prosecuted? Of course they did because what they did was AGAINST military CODE and outside of their orders.

When people think of the US and then have images of Abu Ghraib, you can thank the Liberal media for creating the image. It had NOTHING to do with the Bush Administration or proper conduct of a soldier. It’s what statisticians call an OUTLYER; the notion that you can manage the behavior of millions under you command requires the willful suspension of disbelief.

It’s as asinine as suggesting that the Bush Administration is guilty of “war crimes.”

And really, this is what it boils down to in a nutshell. I trust Levin more than Cheney, but that doesn't mean Levin is telling the truth.
