Re: Cop pulls over ambulance
You don't pull up five feet behind tractor-trailer rig with your lights on and expect him to see you. Nor do you run to a hot call in traffic with just lights and expect traffic to just pull over for you. I've learned that through the years. You bust traffic with your lights and your siren.
I agree.I'm going to side with the cops on this one.
IMO the cops were in the wrong for issuing the ticket because they did not use a siren and were in the ambulance's blind spot.
The EMT certainly didn't act responsibly when he did this. However, I know of no statute which gives EMTs the authority to ignore a police officer and attempt to leave.
I agree. The correct coarse of action would be to show up in court and fight the ticket.
They absolutely acted unprofessionally. The stop itself was a complete abandonment of common sense. The entire incident was escalated by the officers extremely poor attitude. It was exacerbated by the EMT obviously, but this thing started because the trooper didn't use common sense or good judgment.I don't think the troopers acted unprofessionally in this situation. They're cops on the street fighting an irate, very muscular man. You can't expect it to look like a boardroom setting.
