This isn't a first amendment issue. No one said that the participants in the club cannot say or write their beliefs. They simply cannot have a school backed club. And remember that free speech does not bar a private universities receiving no federal dollars from kicking people out for saying certain things.so my question is when does the 1st amendment rights of the school end and the 1st amendment rights of the students begins?
