Halliburton's former subsidiary, KBR, is a major construction company of refineries, oil fields, pipelines, and chemical plants. Halliburton announced on April 5, 2007 that it had finally broken ties with KBR, which had been its contracting, engineering and construction unit as a part of the company for 44 years.
Years ago the military decided not to do most of the peripheral mundane tasks that they have historically done for themselves, and since that time every contract has been suspect and the savings negligible at best. Over more than 20 years everything done other than training and fighting has gone down hill as the costs have gone up, this includes medical care before and after combat injuries. There is NO EXCUSE for our military not not taking care of it's own and providing the best of everything they need and or use. Not one tenth of one percent of our defense contracts of any kind for any item should be allowed to be farmed out to any country regardless of who they are or how long they have been allies to insure there can be no interruption in deliveries and create jobs at home.

It's the old "red herring" defense. There is a difference and you want to squirm because you were called on it...understood.
And his injection of the Bush issue is the smoke screen he is trying to use to cover his argument as it's being picked apart.Considering that I didn't say anything about 'Bush lied', why do you ask? Deflection from your false statement?
The question now is, can you keep him pinned down or will all this wiggling allow him to escape?
The problem is we have committed our forces to campaigns well beyond the scope of their intended mission and that has created an environment in which situations like this can arise and flourish.

One of us looks unreasonable now. I wonder who that is.KBR is under investigation. They have not been convicted or even actually charged with anything criminal at this point. If the bonuses where contractually mandated, then the government is under obligation to pay them. Remember, guilty until proven innocent. from that standpoint, I think this is a nonstory.
