"Nothing can prevent Iranian missiles from targeting the heart of Israel, if Iran is subjected to a military strike by Israel. This was the response of the Iranian military commanders to the Israeli statements about a possible military strike against Iran, because of its insistence on obtaining nuclear energy. Yet an [Israeli] attack seems improbable to the Iranians, because Tel Aviv does not have the ability to go through a war with Tehran".
YouTube - General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel out of existence"
In an effort to us rhetoric as a preemptive strike Iran is promising the total destruction of Israel if attacked. It is another warning that should be taken seriously because it comes not from Ahmadinejad but from various Iranian military leaders.
I would think that any strike on Iran by Israel would have to do much more than just target their potential nuclear weapons programs. To avoid retaliation on a scale Israel would have trouble defending against any attack would have to be on a scale I don't believe Israel have the capability to carry out and include the destruction of a very large number of military targets spanning a vast area and result in the total destruction of each site. The only way to insure such success would be to use nuclear weapons of their own which would lead to a much wider war inviting Russia to become involved which under any US President in the past would mean we would come to Israel's aid. Under Obama that question is up in the air.
All of this points to the need for decisive action to eliminate little mouthy fools like Ahmadinejad who threaten the status quo in the world. The question then becomes what came be done to accomplish such goals. Do we have these people taken out and then play tag with their successor to insure their compliance?
I'm sure there are many schools of thought on these topics, so what say you do we go to the Neville Chamberlain, Barack Hussein Obama method, or do we actually look at all the possibilities before we go to directly to appeasement?
