"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
We supported an unprovoked invaision of Iran.
We aslo supported the Soviet resistance of the Nzi's after they were invaded.
See the difference?
Also this shows that the United States backs nations based more on it's own interests at the time. The US's great morals are easily pushed aside when supporting an unjust govenrment best supports their agenda.
The statement alone demonstrates the ineptness of the Iranian military. If they really had that capability, they wouldn't be bragging about it. Iran's military capability is still in the 1960's...if they began hostilities against Israel, they would quickly learn how far modern warfare has evolved.
And Iran knows this. There would be no missle attack by Iran. In fact, Iran would likely talk a lot about striking back but would fail to do so. This would result in the fall of the current Iranian government.
They have to strike back. They would invade Iraq to get to Israel. The US is not feared world wide. The Iranians would gladly fight the American troops in Iraq to wipeout the country that destroyed their nuclear program.
