General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel out of

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

Please provide a cite for the bolded above.

Google it. It is a well know fact. Try goggling the Vela incident too. There has of course never been any official admission.... Israel does not have nukes right?

Wrong. Israel outlawed torture in 2000.

So? Means Israel used it up to 2000 and I would bet after. The US after all go the idea of what is torture and not torture from some where...

By far the greatest destabilizers in the region (and all around the world) were your brood... the European colonialist powers.

No doubt, but we aint debating that are we now? And "your brood" stem from those "European colonial powers" so you aint exactly innocent either.

Israel has never proliferated in nuclear technology. You lie like a rug.

Another lie you told. Ever notice that the US/CIA rendered many prisoners to European nations, but not one was sent to Israel. Why is that Pete?

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

A blockade is an act of war. Period.
Israel responded to an act of war by going to war, as was her right.
Any other interpretation is a load of propaganda bull****.

Give me a freaking break. It was an excuse.

Israel had already committed an act of war in 1964 when it started divert huge amounts of water from the Jordan River, effectively starving those arab nations down stream. On top of that, Israel attacked installations being built to counter-act this Israeli diversion of water in 1965. Let me guess, that is "self defence" and not an act of war right?

On top of that the straits of Tiran were Egyptian territorial waters so they had every right to deny access to anyone they saw fit. We can debate it till hell freezes over and I bet we would never agree. But let me say this. I disagree with the Egyptian actions but it was their right to do so, just as it is the US right to deny ships in its territorial waters.

At the time Egypt had not signed the convention to allow safe passage through such areas, hence it should not be bound by said charter if you ask me. Or should the US be bound by all conventions where it has either opted out or not signed all of a sudden?

But under the under the doctrine of proportionality (look it up if you dont get it), Israel would only be "allowed" to break the blockade so to insure its right of passage at best.. that aint what they did is it now.. What they in fact did was go to all out war hundreds of km away, and the blockade was only lifted as part of the peace at the end of the war!

In the end Israel used it as an excuse to attack Egypt and others... pure and simple. The fact that they never broke the blockade kinda proves that. And even to this day, as you all have seen in comments in this tread, the "myth" that the blockade was "starving" Israel is being promoted.. it is a lie brought to you by the IDF propaganda people in 1967 and used as an excuse to start a war with Egypt.

But let the usual crap fest and name calling begin. I have no doubt that I will be "shut up" again with the usual amount of "damn jew hater", "you anti-semitic" comments and that will effectively destroy any debate or discussion on the subject as it always does on these boards. Just look at how it has turned out so far in this thread. All I said was that Israel has acted aggressively before and Iran had not for several hundred if not a thousand years. That is a fact that can not be disputed and yet people are trying to do it......and out of that, the usual suspects some how got out of it that I was attacking Israel and calling Iran an angel.. err okay...

Forget it, simply not worth debating anything related to Israel and the middle east because of all the propaganda and bs from both sides and these boards are a classic example of it.

Give me a freaking break. It was an excuse.
The actual term is casus belli.

Now, you can argue all you want that a blockade isn't REALLY an act of war and a nation under blockade doesn't REALLY have a legitimate reason to go to war in response to said blockade -- but you'll just be wrong.

Not that this has ever bothered you...

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

They are both worthless. Both are warmongers and both will hopefully wipe each other off of the map.

Just as many posters didn't fathom the global impact of an American economic implosion there are too many posters who fail to recognize the global impact of a Iran/Israeli war.

Your world would be affected.

My point is that you shouldn't be so quick to wish war on them unless you want to suffer the effects of it as well.

EDIT: Oh and BTW Israel is not a war monger. But Iran is the leading exporter of global terrorism.

Israel has never proliferated in nuclear technology. You lie like a rug.

Ahhh the usual name calling has started. Pathetic Tashah, really pathetic. Israel has no nukes and hence has never proliferated nuclear technology.. gotcha.

It is a well know fact that apartheid South Africa was Israel's primary supplier of uranium. So you are telling me that nothing but money went the other way, and South Africa out of the blue while under an arms embargo suddenly in a very short time period made 6 nuclear weapons? yea.. right..

Another lie you told. Ever notice that the US/CIA rendered many prisoners to European nations, but not one was sent to Israel. Why is that Pete?

What lie? That Israel used torture before the 2000 banning? Or that Israel used enhanced interrogation techniques after? Dont even attempt to play the "angel" here.. unless you truly believe that the Palestinians beat themselvs and put out cigarettes on themselves and put electrical wires on their genitals for the hell of it.

Once you grin you're in Petey. You'll get no quarter from me.

Have no idea what you trying to say here. But tell me this. Has your family, on your mothers and fathers side lived in what is Israel for say the last 100 years? If so, the I apologize. However you can not say that of every single Israeli can you now? How big part of the population came from the US and Europe originally? How many of those were involved in the "colonial system" for generations? It is you that are in denial of your own countries actions.. not me.

I fully know how bad your enemy is, but I also know how bad Israel is and has been since its founding, all in the holy name of "self defence of the Jewish people".... And as long as both sides act like thugs and spoilt children then the conflict will never be solved unless one side wipes out the other.

Correlation does not equal causation.
Please cite --direct evidence-- that SA (or anyone else) received nuclear weapons technology from Israel in violationof the NPT.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

A blockade IS an act of war.
Except, apparently, when you blocakde Israel.
Then it's just an excuse Israel uses to attack her neighbors -- because all she really wants to do is attack her neighbors.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

Posturing. Especially given the upcoming election. I bet Iran's had this missile for years and was just sitting on it.

Israel is probably very unafraid. After all, they have some of the best anti-missile technology (thanks to us, which they later resold to China, BACKSTABBING ***holes).

And Iran's missile is probably highly unreliable, has a low payload, and is inaccurate. Remember that Israel still has submarines capable of launching nuclear tipped cruise missiles that are highly reliable, accurate and with decent payloads.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

I'm not sure the Iranians couldn't do it.

Israel is a tiny country. It can't take much punishment.

But Israel has nukes... Lots of them.

I see the ongoing situation between Israel and Iran as the same kind of posturing that existed between the US and the Soviet Union, but not happening because each side had the capability to completely destroy the other. I see this as another example of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). It won't happen.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

The Federation of AMerican Scientists seems to think that Israel has nuclear weapons.

As does the CIA, in fact. http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB240/snie.pdf

Having nuclear technology and proliferating nuclear technology are two very different things. You never put up a citation as I requested.

It is a well know fact that apartheid South Africa was Israel's primary supplier of uranium. So you are telling me that nothing but money went the other way, and South Africa out of the blue while under an arms embargo suddenly in a very short time period made 6 nuclear weapons? yea.. right.
An unsubstantiated allegation and you know it. I am a member of FAS (Federation of American Scientists) which tracks nuclear proliferation. This is your first lie Pete.

You stated Israel uses torture. Israel outlawed torture in 1999 and this was reaffirmed by the Israel Supreme Court in 2000. Once again Pete, put up corroborating citations. Your second lie.

I fully know how bad your enemy is, but I also know how bad Israel is and has been since its founding, all in the holy name of "self defence of the Jewish people".... And as long as both sides act like thugs and spoilt children then the conflict will never be solved unless one side wipes out the other.
I have no problem whatsoever with anyone who debate's honestly.

But I draw the line when I see unsubstantiated allegations and outright lies. You seem to imagine that you can post anything at all that comes to mind and that no one should call you on it. Baloney.

You lied twice in just one post. Extraordinary. I'll call you each and every time I see you do this crap. Guaranteed. No free passes.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

History, economic facts and geo political facts. Iran has not attacked another nation for well over 1000 years and as Iran still lives on its glorious Persian past. in many ways, then there is no basis for offensive acts from said country. Israel on the other hand.. routinely attacks other nations.

A) Israel has never engaged in an offensive war.

B) Iran has attacked the U.S. and Israel hundreds of times using their proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Sadr army.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

Never said that.

I did say that Iran has been peaceful for centuries (as in not attacking anyone and only going to war when attacked.. aka Iraq attacking them), where as Israel has attacked other nations.. Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon several times.. hell even Uganda and the USA.

Israel has never in its history engaged in an offensive war. As to your laughable accusation regarding attacking the U.S. it was a friendly fire incident to anyone who isn't a nutjob conspiracy theorist. Furthermore; the Cannibal Idi Amin granted safe haven to terrorists who had taken Israeli citizens hostage. And once again Iran has attacked both the U.S. and Israel on hundreds of occasions using their proxy's Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Sadr Army.

Israel, being a small country, has every right to be paranoid and overly "defensive". If you were surrounded by nut jobs who desire your death, you would be defensive as well.
The muslims who hate jews are the major problem here.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

How is having a differing view other than "Iran needs to be wiped off the map" backing Iran?

He made very good economical points of why Iran won't attack Israel. You may not agree with him on those points, but that doesn't mean he is backing Iran.

Why is it many people always assume there are only two sides to a situation and if you don't 100% back the rhetoric of one side, you are automatically for the other side?

Both sides can be wrong at the same time.

You left out the other half dozen or so factions that can be , and often are , wrong.

Try getting a quorum...on this issue. :rofl

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

"Nothing can prevent Iranian missiles from targeting the heart of Israel, if Iran is subjected to a military strike by Israel. This was the response of the Iranian military commanders to the Israeli statements about a possible military strike against Iran, because of its insistence on obtaining nuclear energy. Yet an [Israeli] attack seems improbable to the Iranians, because Tel Aviv does not have the ability to go through a war with Tehran".

YouTube - General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel out of existence"

In an effort to us rhetoric as a preemptive strike Iran is promising the total destruction of Israel if attacked. It is another warning that should be taken seriously because it comes not from Ahmadinejad but from various Iranian military leaders.
I would think that any strike on Iran by Israel would have to do much more than just target their potential nuclear weapons programs. To avoid retaliation on a scale Israel would have trouble defending against any attack would have to be on a scale I don't believe Israel have the capability to carry out and include the destruction of a very large number of military targets spanning a vast area and result in the total destruction of each site. The only way to insure such success would be to use nuclear weapons of their own which would lead to a much wider war inviting Russia to become involved which under any US President in the past would mean we would come to Israel's aid. Under Obama that question is up in the air.
All of this points to the need for decisive action to eliminate little mouthy fools like Ahmadinejad who threaten the status quo in the world. The question then becomes what came be done to accomplish such goals. Do we have these people taken out and then play tag with their successor to insure their compliance?
I'm sure there are many schools of thought on these topics, so what say you do we go to the Neville Chamberlain, Barack Hussein Obama method, or do we actually look at all the possibilities before we go to directly to appeasement?

This is all a bunch of empty rhetoric in an effort to defend their regime's unfavorable image to its people.

Israel will NEVER attack Iran as the United Nations along with the USA would sanction them severely and cutting off the funding America currently sends to Israel would be a severe setback for Israel.

Politically, this would also be a LOSING proposition for the Israeli's and would cause more political harm than the perceived benefits of such an attack.

There is NOTHING to be gained for Israel and they are not fools. They make want everyone to believe they MIGHT do it; but the idea that they actually WILL attack requires some serious denial of the political REALITIES and consequences of such an attack.

I am always amused that anyone takes the news or reports from a repressive regime like this seriously. After all, the UN is doing NOTHING regarding Iran's progress towards nuclear technology. Obviously the entire world doesn't take them serious.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

Iran is peaceful and Israel are the warmongers? Seriously PeteEU?

Seriously?

Pete's history is correct; Iran has not attacked anyone for centuries. This is more hyperbole and posturing than any real threat.

That said, we should take the rhetoric serious and the Obama Administration needs to constantly remind our ally Israel of the SERIOUS consequences should they attempt any kind of attack along the lines of the attacks made on Iraqi facilities.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

I don't really get why you're posting this, unless you're trying to up the fearmongering against Iran.

"Nothing can prevent Iranian missiles from targeting the heart of Israel, if Iran is subjected to a military strike by Israel. Emphasis mine. The Republic of Korea and Japan have said this about a North Korean attack as well, and I didn't see you posting about it.

But that's because North Korea is evil.:doh

So North Korea is not a threat to its neighbors? :doh

i partially agree with you. An Israeli attack would put them in an unfavorable position. And the U.S. & U.N. would likely take actions to prevent such an action.

However, Israel is no fool. Unlike the rest of the world they take the Iranian threat very seriously as they should. They will launch a preemptive strike if Iran achieves nuclear capibilities. They will not risk the lives of their people like the foolish and blind Obama Administration.
:rofl

You are a fool. For years the Roman Empire (after reaching its peak) cease hostilities against the barbarians of the north. However, years later they were once again invading.

A hostile country never ceases to be that. And they have more than enough military strength to eliminate Israel. Despite the IAFs superiority in the sir.

Re: General commander of the Iranian army: It will take us 11 days "to wipe Israel ou

So North Korea is not a threat to its neighbors? :doh

Not really. China stopped supporting North Korea (publicly) once their trade expanded and the US lost the balls to oppose their communist government.

Japan and The Republic of Korea, while not likely able to defeat North Korea, would likely be able to stop an invaision long enough for UN support to arrive.

While the UN doesnt want another Korean War, they will step in to prevent the loss of the Korean foothold and the Japanese market (refering to their economy).
:doh
