I want that panel to include professionals, the panel will be independent - Unable to be fired by the Govt. and it is said that they will have the power to deselect and discipline MPs.

It will ofc, be debated in a few hours time.

Deselect MPs... I think not. Only ones that have that power is the people. Discipline sure, but kick them out? hell no.. goes against every democratic principle.

I hope the panel can kick out MP's. Or refer them to the consituent and call a by election at will. We should have the power to recall our representative and if need be, make them step down.

Who is we, did you vote for your current MP and is he/she one of those under scrutiny?

To be able to kick out an MP, said MP needs to have done something criminal. Non of this is per say criminal according to the law. At worst they can recommend they step down or/and the party kick them out/suspend them.

I know you are disgusted by your elected officials, but if you allow an independent or any organisation to "kick out" elected people then you go from a democracy to a dictatorship. The ONLY people that can kick out elected people (unless they are criminal of course) are the people that elected them.

Now what this organisation could do was to force a by-election and let the people choose, but even that can be misused and goes against the very principles of your democracy.

The Uk has to move on. Set in stone a very strict set of rules for compensation of MPs including the punishment if the rules are broken. Like it or not, very few if any of the MPs have broken any rules or regulations what so ever. They have morally broken the trust of the British people, but that is what you have elections for.

So in other words they will be an unelected body, perhaps subject to the PM, who have a lot of power over a MPs. Doesn't sound like a good move to me. Better to simply have the voters decide in my book.

Nope, the debate stated that only 'the elected' can suspend members from the parliament and the electorate can be the only ones to unseat them. Hopefully by means of 'recall' and de selection and by elections. That'll scare the MPs frigid.

"Deselection". Is this only for Labour?

It all depends how it works to me. I don't fancy either giving much power to a completely unaccountable body and certainly not to the cabinet or PM.
