Obama wins over notre dame

I'm sick and tired of long-winded speeches and empty rhetoric. Obama has failed utterly and miserably at bringing real accountability and transparency to Washington, indeed, he has done precisely the opposite. Americans don't want real change, they never did, it's just a stupid word, a meaningless abstraction which makes people feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Obama is a privelaged white kid whose black half simply gave him skin tone. His life has been run by whites. His background is a white. His lifestyle is basically as a white. His education is as a white. The black half ran out on him when he was a kid.

Obama's critics love to rewrite his history.:yt

If you really want to get a better understanding of who your President is and what he's about then I suggest you read one of the books he's written.

But making up a backstory for him isn't going to magically change his real life story.

I have read two of them. So, in light of that, let me remind you:

The guy has the class of a turd.

Who? The lame in the back of the crowd who wouldn't STFU when his President was talking?

Hopefully the secret service gave him a good beat down.

Great speech, Chuck, too bad you missed it.:2wave:

What? Seriously? A good beat down?

My god there are so many things to laugh about that if it weren't so friggin wrong in every way.

He should have been escorted out. But "beat down"?

Maybe this is the beginning of something much more dark and sinister if we have people thinking like that in response to their Messiah's sensibilities. :doh

Elementary education-

SD Assisi is a private Catholic while SD Besuki Menteng is a locally superior public school
which accepts students from various religious backgrounds.
Barack Obama and His Childhood in Indonesia

At age 10 Obama was put into one of the most private private schools in Hawaii.
Punahou School-

At school, Obama was surrounded by the island's richest and most accomplished students. America Online founder Steve Case, actress Kelly Preston and former Dallas Cowboys lineman Mark Tuinei, who died in 1999, attended the school around that time. Pro golf sensation Michelle Wie, 17, is a student there now.

I don't like people who re-write history and I expect his supporters to know more about him then what they read in his books.

Haven't seen much out of you I would label as intelligent. To me, the worst kind of "N-word" is the same as the worst kind of "W-word". That is, someone who won't take care of their family, won't work, and expects others to pick up the tab and clean up their messes. Are you one of those?

No. That would be the stereotypical N-word you're used to. The one you think that we all are. No. I'm the one that speaks the Queen's English, better than most. The one who who can talk on myriad topics, and put fear in racists' hearts. to recognize intelligence, one would have to be so inclined.
My, what hate-filled group.
And not one mod, suggesting the the rhetoric be toned down. Interesting.

spoke too soon, seems one did. Thank you.

Well, then I guess two people can read the same book and both take something different from it. Fair enough?

Which two did you read?

Dreams of My Father and Audacity of Hope.

I took both with a grain of salt and a close eye for contradictions.

Alright, jailman--settle down--I was trying to be cute--sorry. No, I do not seriously think the Secret Service should get all Dirty Harry on anybody. Okay?

On the other hand, the Fighting Irish D-Line...Have at it, boys!!

It must take some really huge doses of denial to think that Obama's performance thus far hasn't been at least a little bit disappointing. I'm not condemning his entire Presidency, but I'm also not going to characterize him as "the greatest thing since corn flakes". That's just absurd and must take some serious blinders.

You should heed the mod's warning. Just a friendly suggestion.

So you would prefer I lie?

Seems that is the consistent stance of most Obama supporters...

Your trying to paint Obama as some privelaged white person is racist and disgusting:(

What's racist about it? That he was white or that he was privileged?

I deleted my post due to Capt. warning. But it is racist to call him a white man because you are trying to take away the FACT that he is part black. It disgust me when racist do this:(

So when we say he's the first black president, are we racist then, too, because we are trying to take away the FACT that he is part white, too?

Obama identifies himself as a black man. Who is anyone to say he isn't black?

I mean seriously, is there some sort of shade coloring that we are not aware of that if you go past a certain shade you are black and if not you are white?

Please let us know exactly what that shade is.

Staying on topic--what I got out of the speech is finding common ground starts with not demonizing the other side. I may have been guilty of that on another thread in my criticism of Keyes and Terry.

On these passionate issues, it is difficult to take a step back and listen.

I'll just take that as everyone who doesn't embrace the fake life of Obama but insists on using the real life of Obama is a racist.
Obama has led a privileged life dominated by whites. He was basically raised white. Nothing racist in that its simply fact.

So why is Obama's real life so nefarious that his campaign, media, and many of his supporters not only reject it but prefer their myths to it?
IMO its as simple as the need to be 'historic'

You know, some things just become "given", after a while. He (Obama) is the freshest breath of air, in 8 whole years...but some folks are loathe to admit it, and some never will. I can accept that, with trepidation. However what they must admit is that the country, as a whole, approves of whatever it is he is doing, by wide margins (say 60-70%)...and one can argue all day about the rightness or the wrongness of it all, but the fact remains.
I'm hot, behind Gov. Rick Perry, continuing to discuss the remote possibility of Texas seceding the Union. He needs to be in a mental institution. And has the hopes of being in the running for 2012.....talk about the visible impotency in the presence of Sarah Palin, in a GOP conference, some months back. We had one P-whipped president...we hardly need a repeat.
Not to digress, but Kay Bailey Hutchinson, loon that she is, will beat him 'handily" in the next governor's race...if a Democrat doesn't appear to be the spoiler.

Someone please tell Jallman, that we hardly need an Uncle Tom in the Oval Office....speaking of Colin Powell or Condi Rice. Blacks in white-face, is all they are, although Colin Powell's mea culpa is promising and hopeful, that even Republicans can "see the light".
Maybe Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton would be the one for you, eh?

I don't think it's rejected, at least not by him. I mean he has written openly about it, it's how we know these things. I don't think it is entirely fair though to say he is "white". He looks black, and I believe identifies himself as black. That is to say, outside of his close circle of people, he was treated as a black man. Black men during the 70's where not treated particularly well as a rule. So while he was undoubtedly somewhat protected by his friends and family, it was impossible that he was 100 % protected.

Since he has achieved adulthood, he has done some noble charity work for blacks and poor people, and I think that is important to recognize as well.

Mostly though, I think it is important to realize that people are way too complex to worry about whether they are "black" or "white". it's really not germaine to whether President obama is doing good or bad, well or poorly.
