Vice President Joe Biden, well-known for his verbal gaffes, may have finally outdone himself, divulging potentially classified information meant to save the life of a sitting vice president.

According to a report, while recently attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president.

The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks.

Eleanor Clift, Newsweek magazine's Washington contributing editor, said Biden revealed the location while filling in for President Obama at the dinner, who, along with Grover Cleveland, is the only president to skip the gathering.

Does Biden like being the town idiot?

Biden has been pretty foolish(to be polite) for as long as I can remember him. This is nothing new.

So Biden said "hey there's a secret bunker in my house." The house everyone knows he lives in. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_One_Observatory_Circle"]Number One Observatory Circle.[/ame] A secret room in a house that anyone familiar with the Vice President knows serves as his residence.

Imagine that, a bunker designed to provide safety and communications to the VP and his staff located in his house. Wow...that's just unbelievable. What's next? Safe rooms and communications equipment in the White House? Surely not. I mean they wouldn't do that would they? Man I hope nobody spills the beans on that one.

What really has he actually revealed here? Sure it's dumb to advertise, but it's a well known, highly secured locations to begin with. It's not beyond reason to assume there would be a highly secure bunker or safe room there. Besides, it's already common knowledge that a lot of highly sensitive, underground digging and construction were done there. Neighbors complained about it according to the article. Hmmm...wonder what that could have been for? Tornados?

It doesn't sound like you're so fond of Mr Biden. You should be praising him for giving the location of the bunker to everybody, because now he's more likely to be blown to smithereens in an attack...if Obama goes down he's less likely to become President. I'm guessing you wouldn't like the idea of Joe as President, I'm not completely sure I do either.

Yeah, it's only a news story because it's on Fox, everyone KNEW the secret.

Wait.. you guys didn't buy the "everyone knew Plame was with the CIA" when you guys were drooling over trying to blame Bush for outing a "spy"....

But the P admits there is a secret VP Bunker and it's no big deal because "everyone knew it was there".

Boggles.

If there is anyone here who did not believe there was a bunker under the VP's home, please raise your hand.

Heck the History channel did a whole show about all the bunkers and tunnels in washington, even showing a "small city" under a section of Virginia built in case of nuclear attack.

Try staying on topic, this is about Biden. You know, the VP?

Maybe you should let your conservative buddy Mr. V. know that since he was the one who brought it up first.

No, V. You aren't getting the point I'm making. Here is a heavily guarded building in which the VP stays and his staff often convene. There is a history of deep underground construction there. If someone is intent on attacking the VP they are probably going to at least use google to find out where he lives when he's not out flapping his jaws like some kind of drunken jackass.

Let's see if this works. The Vice President lives there. Armed guards all around. You following me yet?

Not according to the thread author. This discussion just took a new turn at his direction. Try to keep up there old friend.

Yeah, I know. I'm not sure where he was going with this but it doesn't work out to well as far as helping his case.

Foolish? Be polite? Why? It's nice the way you minimize what he did. You obviously don't give much of a **** about national security. Trying to smoke screen wrong doing as usual, how do you sleep at night? You seem to have a pattern of this. Why can't you admit when the guy broke security.

Biden is pathetic.

So what, he was under no obligation to respond to it.

Let's see here. I said Biden is foolish(to be polite). This is another way of saying that foolish is a milder term than I might want to employ. In point of fact, I believe Biden is a full blown idiot, I just try and avoid being so insulting to anyone. I had resigned myself to vote for Obama in the November election when he announced Biden as his running mate, and that alone very nearly stopped me for voting for Obama. I do not like the guy. Is all that now clear enough for you?

I also said "this is nothing new". This means that I am saying that Biden has a pattern of acting in a stupid manner. I know this is a tough concept for you, but when I say that Biden has a pattern of acting in a stupid manner...that is not a compliment. There is no smoke screen. There was no attempt to play down what Biden did, except in your head.

No good enough, if you're not outraged by him at this point, you're an apologist. Especially since you spend so much bashing the right. You voted for a Chicago gangster and a bigmouthed idiot. Both unqualified to sit in their positions. The lives of our troops and citizens are in their hands, and you don't want to insult them.

Yeah, he really broke security, he really jeopardized our nation.

Hey guess what, I heard Obama tell his buddies that Air Force One had missile jamming capabilities on it! No way!!!!!! Who would have ever thought that Air Force One would have a defensive capability? I mean it's only the President who flies on it you know? I mean seriously, now that people know this, they may try to shoot it down!

The location is already a high interest target because IT'S THE VICE PRESIDENTS QUARTERS! The fact that there is a bunker there doesn't increase it's value, it only means what any intelligent enemy state or terrorist organization might think of THE VICE PRESIDENTS QUARTERS. There is probably a safe room or some other defensive structure in there in order to secure him from attacks.

Think about your logic here and get back with us.

No, if you're actually "outraged" by this you are out of touch with reality or just ignorant. Or both.

He was an idiot, but it's not like he actually made the country a more dangerous place. Step away from your hyper-partisan outlook a minute. This is more laughable than an outrage, in the same way that watching any idiot make an idiot of themselves is laughable.

The rest of your comments is just a rehash of your partisan whining that we have heard from you dozens of times in the past. It has nothing to do with this.

This is the very definition of Desperation.

My story is falling apart... Think fast, think fast...

Oh, wait, look over here... Remember that other story that has no relevance whatsoever to my story? Here's a new spin on it. Chew on it while I run for cover...Heavens to Murgatroyd, exit stage left! (great live album)

Not so fast, MrVicchio, what exactly does Plame have to do with the fact that we all knew there was secure room in the VP mansion proving your story a non-story. Does bringing up Plame somehow bring some new credibility to your story? How so?

Precisely, the "slap them in the face with a red herring while I dance myself off the stage and out of the spotlight."
