Obama to block detainee abuse photos

Nope.
They admitted the pictures (which afaik are just more from the files of those idiots in that one unit in Abu Ghaib) being released would cause harm to the war effort.
IMO this more they will cause harm to Obama and friends.

Regardless 'horrible' is your line..or someone elses..al jazeera's maybe?

You fail to recognize the fact that these photos are so horrible they can't be released, so don't you think in the enemies minds and others (you know the ones that could harm the troops) they won't be thinking the worst?

So tell me how can releasing them be more harmful than the wondering minds of the enemy anyway?

I fail to recognize your use of "explosive" wordage as being applicable,.

Again, you claim that the photos themselves are going to put troops in danger. Sorry but the fact that our government won't release them puts pictures in the minds of our enemies that could put our troops in more harm greater than anything we can provide.

It doesn't even take a freshman of psychology to see this which is who told me this.

It doesn't take a kindergartner to realize you don't hand out any form of damaging propganda to your enemis in a time of war whether that enemy be the actual one overseas or their enablers inside your own nation.

What harm?....

All anyone has to do is go back a few years to when those guards actions and photos where released.

Hell you guys on the left compared it to a NAZI DEATH CAMP.
Who the **** did that help?..al Qaeda.

the damaging propaganda has ALREADY been handed out in the form that the U.S. government says these photos are too bad to let out.

It is best to just show these pictures because the human imagination across the world is going to be much much worse.

It unleashes the human imagination of what is bad and what is worse and what is damning.

The damage has already been done by saying these photos exist. The worst is being done RIGHT NOW in imagining what is so bad the U.S. cannot let out.

Its amusing what you people consider to be torture. I bet you thought being forced to eat brussels sprouts or your parents forcing you to do chores must have been torture.

I'd love to see you waterboarded James. In fact I think I'd quite enjoy seeing you break like some kind of a school boy bitch and then I'd ask you "was that torture or just enhanced interrogation?"

Exactly! Now it will look like we are trying to cover up again. The damage is done at this point.

Not releasing the pics because we're at war is just an excuse so they don't ever have to release them. The fact is, we'll always be at war in the Middle East.

:funny

Many people wouldn't want to go to jail, join the army, pick fruit, work in a factory, be in Alaska on it's coldest day, be in Arizona on its hottest day without an air conditioner and a lot of other things. It doesn't make it torture just because its not something you want to do or go through. Something being unpleasant does not make it torture. But nice try though. I see *****fist(pacifist+*****,yeah I know its basically putting two synonymous words together) who label simulated water drowning as torture will resort to all sorts of nonsense. Hey I know I find listening to christian rap, 80s hair metal, Barney to be very unpleasant, so it must be torture.

Wow, and now you are taking the position of hardcore internet tough guy because you "think" waterboarding is simply unpleasant and will take this opportunity to call me a *****. Jesse Ventura went through it during his training at SEER school and he said it is torture. Since he is a "real" tough guy, I think he trumps you.

So where does that leave us Jimmy? I'd like to see you volunteer for it. Or are you also a just ***** who talks a good game but leaves his balls at the house?

Are you seriously comparing those to water boarding?

Awww ..poor guy. He must really be thirsty and these two kind gentlemen are giving him a drink

Are you saying people were labeled un-American for saying that the war was based on a lie and for claiming that the troops were torturing their prisoners?

Yes that pretty much summarizes the lies of the Left and their despicable offensive BS they spewed daily in their campaign of ignorance.

Please explain why you believe it's childish and immature behavior. Also, please articulate the increased risk this will put our troops at. I hear this on the T.V., I see it hear...put some actual meat to this argument.

I'll wait.

I will let Obama's own words answer your question as they are identical to my own. You voted for him right; at least he FINALLY gets it; you’re still wallowing in partisan hypocrisy and denial.

Mr Obama said issuing the photos would "inflame anti-American opinion and put our troops in greater danger" without shedding any new light on past abuses under the previous administration of George W. Bush.

He said "that the publication of these photos would not add any additional benefits to our understanding of what was carried out in the past by a small number of individuals".

So the U.S. government acknowledges there are pictures so terrible, that they cannot be released because they would put troops in danger.

Doesn't the fact that there are ADMITTED pictures so terrible they cannot be released ALREADY put our troops in danger. So at this juncture, what's the point whether they are released or not?

The damage is done and now the U.S. looks like it is hiding something from the world that the U.S. acknowledges is very very bad and the troops will be in danger from this already.

In fact because the human mind can imagine things more horrible than what is on pictures the worse will be assumed and our troops will already be put in more danger because of the photos not being released.
Well, when a harmless cartoon sets off Muslims riots in the ME, and people get killed and injured, it's probably prudent of the President.

I have been in a state of shock and disbelief since I first heard he was finally doing something right.
Now if the Justice Dept. would go after the Associated Communist Loving Union or (ACLU) for lending aid and comfort to the enemy for trying to put our people in harms way. Everything would be right with the world for almost 2 minutes.

Apparently the Aussies have released photos. The one on Drudge shows a guy hanging upside down of the edge of a bunkbed naked. My real question is what are the pink sheets all about?

The image reported to be a prisoner hanging from a bunk on the Telegraph CO.UK looks to be like a fake. Look closely at the hands and feet clearly not tied to anything. You can see nothing that indicates anything other than this guy is nude. He shows no marks of any kind and looks like a pillow or something else under his head to act as a cushion. There is something under his feet so as not to have the metal from the bunk cut his feet. There seems to be some sort of liquid container a matter of inches away so he does not appear to be deprived of water or something else to drink. His hands appear to be in a praying position. I really don't think this is a picture of torture. I'm not saying there might be others that show it but this I don't think does.
Please with an open mind look closely at it again.

Its probably just a re-release of a photo already released from this way back in 2004.

You didn't answer my questions. Please quit avoiding them. I'll break it down for you again so you don't get confused.
Please explain why you believe it's childish and immature behavior.
This should be easy enough for you.
Also, please articulate the increased risk this will put our troops at.
This one might take some time and some actual evidence. I doubt it will be easy for you at all. I predict you won't actually answer this one.
