Obama adviser says US won't stop Afghan airstrikes

When Bush was at war, many called him a war criminal. So where are the accusers now? Obama is doing the exact same thing, and I don't hear a peep from those who accused Bush. Was killing civilians wrong for Bush and OK for Obama? That's the message I seem to be getting from Obama supporters. So, in other words, killing civilians was not the issue when Bush was in office. It was about politics, and nothing more. If I am wrong, then I want to hear the same people who condemned Bush condemn Obama. After all, he is doing pretty much the same thing.

It has already been demonstrated that the Taliban kills civilians with grenades and claims they are victims of American "aggression".
Show proof that the attacks are "killing civilians", or stop enabling the Taliban by circulating their lies.

KABUL, Afghanistan Civilian casualties in Farah province earlier this week were more likely the work of Taliban killers who orchestrated a series of events leading up to U.S. bombings, rather than the bombs themselves, U.S. military authorities said Thursday.

Even while a joint Afghan-U.S. investigating team was entering the district of Bala Buluk where some reports said up to 120 people were killed overnight Monday and early Tuesday U.S. authorities challenged the idea that it was the close air support of four strafing runs and 13 bombs that killed the civilians.
Col. Greg Julian, the top U.S. spokesman in Afghanistan, said that there were unconfirmed reports that villagers in the area said Taliban fighters herded women and children into houses, tossed in grenades, then blamed the coalition for the deaths.

I cannot speak for those who called Bush a war criminal, though I do not think air-strikes were the main reason he was called such, but regardless of who the president is, caution must be taken in ensuring that intelligence is correct and that correct targets are hit. By blindly ignoring the consequences of slaughtering civilians, we are no better for the people of Afghanistan than the Taliban. We will lose the backing of the Afghan people and ultimately change nothing.

I don't recall a whole lotta people bashing Bush for actions taken when fighting the Taliban (torture, notwithstanding.) I most remember him taking flack over Iraq.

Everybody wants the Taliban put out of commission. Dems and Repubs alike.

Most of the remarks came from Bush's war in Iraq.

I supported Bush's efforts fully in Afghanistan. When Obama turns his eyes from Afghanistan and then invades a country that has little to do with the war on terror citing falsely that a country has stockpiles of WMDs that would be a valid comparison don't you think?

So telling how the tune changes to one of support when it comes to Obama but if it were Bush still waging the war, you would be crying and caterwauling to the high heavens about how wrong it was...

The tune never changed. The majority on the left supported the Afghanistan war.

Huh? Show me where I was against the Afghanistan war even when Bush was waging it.
