It is a voluntary military. If we had a draft you mite have had a point.

    This is asbolutly not true.

"While the largest share of claims is still coming from Vietnam War veterans, there are expected to be many more claims in future from personnel who served in the first Gulf War and in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the panel said." - VA urged to improve treatment of PTSD - Military- msnbc.com

While the government is asking for the VA to improve treatment methods, it is not claiming veterans of the current conflict are being unduly denied. It even go on to show that Vietnam veterans are currently the lions share of cases.

    Not true.

Back in the Clinton years the active military was being scaled down and the reserves and National Guard were to be used as 50% of our combat forces in time of war. In fact it started as soon as Bill Clinton took office.

Please do us all a favor and get some real facts on the situation.

Don't go talking about "bad apples"....our soldiers in Iraq have been asked to stay too long, have suffered too much, and have not complained. The military needs to know when to say "enough" to the civilian command structure, and not subject our young men and women to endless pressure.

Actually we who serve(d) know about "honor, duty, courage" and what you are suggesting amounts to mutiny.

Is that what you REALLY want?

and yes this was a bad apple, are you suggesting the militarty is full of psychos.

When I heard about this horrible story yesterday, I knew 1 of 3 people here would be opening a thread to use this story to show how horrible the entire military is. Next time, I'm laying money down.
