Financial Rescue Nears GDP as Pledges Top $12.8 Trillion !!!

Financial Rescue Nears GDP as Pledges Top $12.8 Trillion (Update1) - Bloomberg.com

The U.S. government and the Federal Reserve have spent, lent or committed $12.8 trillion, an amount that approaches the value of everything produced in the country last year, to stem the longest recession since the 1930s.
The heist of this nations wealth continues.... Does anyone still believe the 'bailout' had anything to do with a few people unable to pay their mortgages??

With 12.8 TRILLION dollars you could have paid every single mortgage in the US, at least twice.

Mind you if I had the power to spend money backed by taxpayers with no limits and no chance of recourse.... you better believe I'd find 12.8 trillion I could spend.... hell, I'd buy the whole planet and make everyone beg for a piece of what I bought.

From Bloomberg... sorry it wasn't within 48 hours... but this is important enough that it should deserve a bit of slack.

    Ah, the key word pledges.

The max is that horrific $12.8 trillion, but currently, it's just a terrifying $$4.16 trillion.

It's interesting how they've only committed 1/5 of the limit to GSE Mortgage-Backed Securities. As high as those numbers are, it's interesting how the amounts actually spent aren't anywhere near their limits for every group except for the treasury. In particular, some of the worst expected accounts have huge amounts of unspent funds.
