It's pork spending for the misuse of a high value military asset effectively reenacting 9/11 in the minds of the people who were the targets of the attack.

It's not 'just a picture', not at all.

We're talking about perception, not objective data.

The city of NY is filled with victims of violence, that violence being 9/11. I'm sure Capt'n could back me up when I tell you that victims of violence are sensitive to things and events which resemble the attack. From rape victims to combat related PSTD.

Obama admitted that this was a mistake and someone lost their job to boot. Clearly this was not simply about "just a picture".

You called the attempt to promote pride in America pork. I wanted to know why you consider it pork? Granted it did not quite work out in this situation but that does not mean it is pork. And I'm certain no one got rich off this failed attempt unlike like recruiting spending that advertising agencies actively pursue because of the money spent on those ads and the profitability.

As I said, $300K for a postcard pic worth 25 cents; and it's not even a good picture to boot.

Show me how this pic is going to earn more than $300K for the treasury and we can set aside any notion of pork until we see how Obama wastes it, and move on to address the impact this had on the population and how Obama placed a high value military asset in jeopardy simply for a few 100K in profit.

Wow you are all over the map on this one. First off the WH is not in business but I bet were they were they could make. Buck off the image in question. After all Farrah Faucit made a mint off her poster. Secondly AF2 was never in jepordy. Thirdly making a 100k off of 300k means one ha

If one makes 100k on 300k and winds up with 400k on their investment that is a pretty good rate of return on investment. Capital is a wonderful ting ain't it?
