5 ways W.H. made tests less stressful

    5 ways W.H. made tests less stressful - Eamon Javers - POLITICO.com

But the Obama administration, through a combination of smart timing, finesse and some good old-fashioned luck avoided the worst — so much so that Thursday’s stress-test results seemed barely a blip, even though they showed 10 banks need another $75 billion in capital.
Usually, the purpose of stress tests is to bring bad news to light sooner rather than later.

So why are Dear Leader and Tiny Tim working to obscure the bad news presumably revealed by the so-called "stress tests"?

Especially since the banks were given their opportunity to game the numbers?

Geithner: Banks negotiated intensely - Mike Allen - POLITICO.com

Stress-test results showing major banks need to raise new capital were finalized after intense negotiation between the government and the banks, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told Charlie Rose in an interview taped on Wednesday.
These stress test results were tainted from the very beginning, and the political finagling regarding their publication renders them virtually meaningless.

Which may explain their minimal impact on the markets.

IMO its primary purpose was to make it seem the banks are incapable of handling things on their own.
So Obama can then use the findings to eventually seize control of most banks in the US.

However you cut it the intent was not to fix anything..its to weave perceptions.

You know they were separated at birth, don't you?
