Obama riles high-tech exec over outsourcing

Seeing how Obama is a socialist liberal there is hardly going to be anything I will agree with Obama on. However trying to keep jobs in the US is one of those things I can support Obama on. What the **** should any company that outsources get a tax break? The government has no business trying to encourage/entice any company to outsource out of the US.**** China,**** India and any other country companies outsource to, America should have the highest priority when it comes to job creation and jobs.

Carl Guardino usually comes across as an amenable, mild-mannered Silicon Valley executive. But not on Monday. Not when he watched President Obama promising to end overseas tax breaks for U.S. companies that "create a job in Bangalore, India, (rather than) one in Buffalo, N.Y." Guardino, CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, angrily described Obama's language as "not only discouraging, but divisive."
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Overburdening our corporations and companies leads to all sorts of perverted results.

Of course, some only want the code played with at the fringes, and an expansion of the IRS.

It's sick. The whole scheme has to be debugged so it's 1000 times simpler. No shell games that bring these results.

And Obama shouldn't be telling people how to run their businesses.
If he doesn't like the activity GOVERNMENT encourages, then change the damn law. YOU OWN the entire show and could change the law in a NY minute.

    Such a whining no good.

Re: Obama riles high-tech exec over outsourcing

Can someone explain to me why a corporation should pay taxes earned in a foreign country that did not use assets in the US to generate such income?

Why should an individual have to pay taxes to the US government on income earned outside of the US not using US based assets merely because their citizenship is of the US? Because their corporate charter is in Delaware?

The only time a corporation should have to pay taxes on foreign income is if that income was generated using US assets. If they don't use such assets, the only time that income should be reported is on financial statements, not tax returns.

And to Zimmer, do you think an entity that has an investment in a company should have no say in how that company is run, especially if that investment is securities like common stock?
