Wouldn't you think, probably not, but give it a try, that converting a few muslims to Christianity might just be a good thing?
Why do Muslims need to be converted to Christianity?
Muslims have Jesus already, there is no need to switch religions to have him tyvm.

We are still trying to find out what this "force" you mention is. Because the majority of religions (not including the lunatic fringe of Islam or any other) do not convert via the sword or any other forcefull means.
The Puritans would be a fine example of forced religion, yawn.

Why would I have done that? It was a reasonable request from him and I respected the guy enough to honor that. I could easily go out, see a movie, visit another friends room, etc.

As for those saying that it is ok for U.S. soldiers to spread the Christian faith in Afghanistan, since when did it become the mission of the U.S. military to spread Christianity in Afghanistan?

If it isn't a mission, then they shouldn't be doing it. If some civilians want to go there on a peace mission and do those sort of missionary work, fine, but the U.S. military in no way should be doing this.

Christians do not need to be converted anywhere.
They can cling onto Jesus and worship him as a God. Not my problem nor business.
You do not see me preaching Islam and attempting to convert anyone. I'd expect the same respect paid.

I worship not that which ye worship
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.

The Qu'ran says the path has been shown to you, you can choose to follow it or you can reject it. That is everyones choice.

I agree with you ( I know, right?) for two reasons. First, to put proselytizing in the hands of soldiers is to engage in exactly the type of behavior we take issue with over militant Islam. Secondly, proselytizing is not permitted at most jobs and I don't think it should be especially forbidden in a government job being that we strive to keep a secular government from infringing on the religious freedoms of the citizens of our country; it is only right that we take the same precautions with citizens of other countries.
