    Kerry aims to rescue newspapers

No doubt by having Congress pass yet more bail out cash to an industry that has no longer any relevance.

If any industry loses money, on a continuous basis, that industry deserves to go under.
The Newspaper industry has for far too long refused to recognize that there are newer and better ways of reporting.
The Internet will fully condemn paper reporting to the trash can of History.

You also forgot how newspapers dont do any actual reporting and are just in the tank for politicians.

I love it how Senators only care about newspapers when it's their hometown's paper going under.

Anyways, there was a great article yesterday in my paper about using hemp for newsprint. It would cut the cost in half plus give lots of opportunity to grow it locally, giving more opportunity to farmers who are also struggling. But of course hemp is somewhat related to marijuana so you just know those crazy stoners are gonna start smoking their newspapers.
I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it.

    This is funny:
Mr. Kerry, who has called for Senate hearings on "the future of journalism" to begin May 6, also cited the negative influence of "agenda-driven reporting" and media conglomerates.
    Editor's Correction:

Change "the future of journalism" to "the future of socialist propaganda"

The old theory for newspapers was... one would be profitable in most towns... and it looks like we have a winner and it's not the Boston Globe/NY Times.

    Good riddance.
