CTV.ca | U.S. security boss clarifies comments about border

The U.S. Homeland Security chief has clarified earlier remarks that suggested the 9-11 terrorists entered the U.S. through Canada.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano made the comments during a media interview earlier this week, much to the chagrin of Canadians on both sides of the border.

In a release Tuesday night following the interview, she called Canada a "close ally and an important partner" and said she was simply misunderstood.

As the media silence on the number of gaffes this administration is making, one can't help but wonder, where the hell did Obama get this woman? First they release a report that vets are susceptible to extremist groups now she insults Canada by suggesting its thier problem that say the millenium bomber came in through canada?

Napolotano is an idiot, and she is Obama's idiot.

Thus far Napolitano has been disappointing.

It's a full time job keeping the VP out of sight.

She was overgeneralizing... if she had said "some entered through Canada" she would have been correct. A few, if I recall, came through the Nova Scotia sea port and moved their way down into New York State. But you have to remember, this was back before the idea of widespread terrorism was really worrisome in the minds of many. No one could have pre-empted what happened... it was so strategically planned to take advantage of every vulnerability. Everyone, including Canadian and U.S. border security, was caught with their pants down.

Still, her comments implied that it was mostly Canada's fault that U.S. security was lacking. She really made a lot of Canadians angry. I remember reading the article (from a Canadian news site) and felt a little bit wronged. Bad move on her part.

Wouldn't that be our fault then? i don't think canadians are letting and not letting people into my country. that is the job of us customs.

Seems to me Napolitano is a perfect fit for the Pres Doofus (or is that Soros) administration.

Clinton is the only one of the whole bunch with any clue and even she can't keep the Pres Doofus story about Pakistan straight from one day to the next.

Its really a pretty sad period for the US.

I guess... but they did come in through a Canadian seaport originally. Although, how could Canada have known who they were and what their plans were?

Oh look..

McCain defends Napolitano, insists 9/11 perpetrators came from Canada

Arizona Senator John McCain is the latest high-profile politician to repeat the diehard American falsehood that the Sept. 11, 2001, attackers entered the United States through Canada.

Just days after Janet Napolitano, the U.S. homeland security secretary, sparked a diplomatic kerfuffle by suggesting the perpetrators took a Canadian route to the U.S. eight years ago, McCain defended her by saying that, in fact, the former Arizona governor was correct.

...

"As the 9/11 Commission reported in July 2004, all of the 9/11 terrorists arrived in the U.S. from outside North America. They flew to major U.S. airports. They entered the U.S. with documents issued to them by the U.S. government. No 9/11 terrorists came from Canada."

I guess I was wrong. Maybe I was recalling reports from 2001 that claimed at the time that people came through Nova Scotia. I guess, in fact, Canada is innocent.

Clinton is the only one of the whole bunch with any clue

Exactly. I never thought I'd see the day where I was grateful to have Hillary Clinton in a position of power.

Napolotano is an idiot, and she is Obama's idiot.

Do you honestly think she is the ONLY idiot in the Government? The congress is infested with Democrat morons as well as the White House these days. To be honest, she fits right in with the rest of the idiots running things.

You cannot fabricate the level of stupidity it takes to act like this on terrorism, the war on terror, the interrogation memos and fear monger the American people into a $1.8 trillion deficit without a single debate about how to pay for it and then claim that they "inherited" it from the Bush Administration; as if Obama and the other cretins in the Democrat Party didn't vote for this largess.

This is the same party that told us the Republicans were spending irresponsibly, yet they voted in high numbers for all the spending, and then claimed they would be MORE transparent and pay as they went.

Now they are planning to use special rules to prevent the minority from filibustering their attempts to create a National Health Care Program without any bi-partisan input.

Yes people, you cannot fabricate the level of stupidity, hypocrisy and gross incompetence that is represented by the Democrats these days; except for the stupidity exhibited by the American people in going along with this rabid lunacy.

Thus far Napolitano has been disappointing.

Let me make your comment more pertinent; Thus far DEMOCRATS have been disappointing.

The only thing more laughable has been all the thanks you got for this simplistic statement. Too damned funny.
