But he won't. The only people who care about this issue are bhkad and Jack Thompson.

Exactly. That's why I don't see why Obama is even remotely relevant in this discussion.

Wonderful examples that no matter what side of the isle you find yourself on, there's this kind of idiocy.

Obama being in office makes this, in my mind, no more likely to happen than uber-social conservative George Bush. All it needs is the right spark for the feigned outrage and manufactured story to demonize video games as both promoting war and violating the morality of our children that we'll have some jackasses in government trying for MORE censorship of the medium. And when it happens, it won't matter if its a liberal in the white house or an extreme social conservative, either one is going to screw us over.

Obama my ass. This doesn't mean **** about Obama and it takes putting blinders on ones head to think that Obama would sign any kind of legislation on this that uber social conservative, routinely mucked around in our lives, George Bush wouldn't have done as well.

I didn't think any president would believe he could fire the CEO of GM either...
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

I agree that the entire bailout plan is an enormous cluster****, but it's a bit disingenuous to say that he fired the guy.

The guy resigned because Obama's Administration strong-armed him and the company which they felt justified doing because they gave them bailout money which they shouldn't have given them in the first place.

They couldn't. They can however make the CEO stepping down a prerequisite for GM to receive government funding.

    So they fired him...

The method maybe different, but the goal and end game were the same yes?

Re: One in 10 video gaming youths could be addicted

I think the point of this thread should be instead the vast stupidity of trying to regulate the video game industry based on the lax parenting of some people out there these days. People want to blame video games for some reason for all these faults, but end of the day who is really to blame? Not Sega or Nintendo, it's the parent. Bender is right
Does drinking and smoking on TV make me cool? Of course it does. And stealing? Again, the answer is yes. But most, if not all, of the blame rests with you the parents. So I ask, have you ever thought about turning off the TV, sitting down with your kids, and hitting them?
