Palin stands against abortion during Ind. speech

Palin stands against abortion during Ind. speech

She challenged the notion that children must be born perfect and that unplanned pregnancies are inconvenient and can be ended by abortion. "I know for sure my son is perfect just as he is, made in the image of God," she said.

She asked the crowd to keep working for the "culture of life" in America.

"Life is ordained, life is precious," she said.

Palin said women who can't give birth should have the opportunity to adopt children who might otherwise be aborted. She mentioned that her own daughter Bristol became pregnant as an unmarried teen and has since given birth to a son.
Is there any doubt that the social conservatives in the Republican party wish argue against choice do so from a religious stance and do not care about those who do not share their purely religious beliefs?

Bolded : Did she just say that God is a retard? Haha. Funny.

Well it seems so with Palin so that's like what, 1? Very empirical assertion.

I'm just going to assume that when you elect a party leader (Gov. of Alaska, VP of Republicans) you do so because they best represent your own particular views and values. Am I wrong? If not, I assume that's more than one.

Some environmentalists fight against global warming and wish for society damaging actions to be taken to fight against it because mother earth or gaia is a tangible spirit and entity that physically is pained and killed by drilling and other things assossiated with it. Naturally, is there any doubt that all that democrats are pushing Global Warming only because they feel the earth is a god like being that is being damaged and killed by our acts?

Some people are against abortion due to the religious reasons, others are not. Yes, religious people are trying to push their views on the issue into law. Likewise, non-religious people are wishing their view pushed on.

You may say "well, its not THEIR body, its not forcing them to do it", however they view it as a human just as the others view it just as a fetus. As such, the wanton killing of a human without cause is a societal issue and does affect others, just as murder does. I hate this idiotic feeling that religious people can't vote their consicious in regards to societal issues and yet anti-religious people can do it without any issue. The consitution states there's no establishing a state religion, I see no where that it states that a citizen can not cast their vote or push for laws based on their beliefs and morals that were created due to religion.

I'm not sure that's a strictly accurate view of the Gaia hypothesis but anyway you make a good point. To get anything like a complete political, social and economic worldview all people draw on metaprinciples and beliefs and secularists, democrats and liberals are no different.

Opposition to abortion can be argued from the principles of several religions, from secular bioethics, and from political positions such as libertarianism and Constituionalism. People who oppose abortion may do so from any of those positions or from all of them.

Re: Palin stands against abortion during Ind. speech

This is one of the reasons I so like Gov. Palin. She's neither ashamed of her views, nor afraid to stand up and make it clear her views.

I always find teh argument about religious values effecting political views being bad to be amusing. We all have our reasons for supporting whatever it maybe, as Z pointed out the Gaia GW bit, or whatever.

We all have values, beliefs, principles. Why are religious principles any different then "Well it's what I have decided is right" basis for stands?

    Go Sarah, you rock.

Side note, why is Alaska so economically stable, prepared and running smoothly yet Palin is considered an idiot. while New York or Cali are on teh verge of collapse and their leaders are considered smart?
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

Common sense and good fiscal policy by Palin vs arrogance and elitism by the slapnut liberals.

Serious Q: What about this is breaking news, as opposed to just partisan politics?

Sarah Palin gave a speech opposing abortion. Did this shock anyone? Was anything new gleaned from this?
