Palin stands against abortion during Ind. speech

She didn't know any of the newspapers she read everyday either. Well, she does now.

That is when she lost any respect she could have earned from me. It was hopeless after that:)

She did not say that. It was said by an actress portraying her in a SNL skit.

Not directed at you, just clarifying for those who may not know.

I have a feeling that the little R beside her name probably had a lot more to do with your assessment than what newspapers she does or does not read.

And there is nothing untrue about that statement. You can see Russian from across the Bering Strait and along a lot of the coastline of northeastern Alaska.

You sound like my Dad! And he is a frigging democrat:rofl

It is absolutely amazing to me that people are still suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome.

Well then, it was good speaking with you. Cheerrio and pip pip.

Good for you. Wes is not in reality on this issue.

It is absolutely amazing to me that people are still suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome.

Huh? I have never understood why people's dislike for certain politicians makes them have X Derangement Syndrome. It's a normal emotion to dislike someone. Why people have to make it seem as though such dislike is abnormal is just so ridiculous. But keep it up Alex if it somehow makes you feel better.

:rofl

I still find the whole thing strange about how someone who is SOOOOOOO pro-life would have a test done to determine whether her child had a defect. As I said back at the time this information came out, I have a friend who is against abortion. She had 2 childen after 35 and refused to undergo an amnio beause she would accept whoever came out of her. I know everyone's different, but I still am surprised. Now, I dont' know for a fact whether she underwent THAT particular test--I just know she knew she was having a baby with Down Syndrome. If she did undergo that test, there is a chance you could terminate the pregnancy. So why did she do it? It makes no sense to me.

We are against Abortion, but had the full genetic counseling. Why would one not want to be prepared and have all the information possible?

That said, this thread is funny, somehow Palin being pro-life is Breaking News? Where are the Partisan Police when one needs them. :rofl

Aps, the amnio and other tests (OMG, it's been so long that I forgot what those tests are called) are not just about determining whether or not to terminate. As it was explained to me, my OB urged me to have testing done because if they know of an issue, the appropriate drs will be available during/after delivery. There are no guarantees that certain specialists will be on call at 3 am. One of our tests determined a problem, and we were able to meet with a specialist to determine the best medical course of action before our child was born. She showed up to examine him shortly after he was born. If we had been faced with those surprises after a 34 hour labor, I doubt either of us would have made smart decisions. I know for a fact that specialist would not have been there right after birth.

I felt like you. When presented with the choice of testing, my reaction was, "It doesn't matter because we would never terminate," but I learned that it's also about healing and sometimes life saving.

:rofl You must be one of those that have no clue to the meaning. I have had the most laughs ever the past few days off of these right winged teabagging nuts.

I know what it means. I just don't think it's a necessary component in a discussion about political issues. In fact, the whole reaction by the left has been extremely juvenile. Don't you guys claim to be so tolerant and understanding?

Well let's start with her supposedly saying she could see Russia from her porch and work from there.

So are we going to rely on citing SNL skits as the basis for this? I am willing to set some parameters on this because I don't hold SNL in the same regard as the MSM in that, well...it's SNL. I'm talking about issues the MSM grabbed and proliferated. To my knowledge I didn't see MSNBC or CBS claiming Palin said she could see Russia from her front porch.

And there is nothing untrue about that statement. You can see Russian from across the Bering Strait and along a lot of the coastline of northeastern Alaska.
Yeah, but seriously, do we really want to discuss this point? Seriously, her responses to some of the questions in that interview were less than impressive.

How many times have we seen here at DP, members claiming that palin stated she said that?

Including I believe the thread starter. The thread may be archived or expired now, but I recall pointing out what you have numerous times when this argument comes up by your left of center bretheren.

Fact is, this thread is dumb. It's about as breaking news as the sun rising every morning.

Yeah, but seriously, do we really want to discuss this point? Seriously, her responses to some of the questions in that interview were less than impressive.

Can we hold Obama to this same standard? How many states? Childeren with Asthma use breathalyzers?

How many times have we seen here at DP, members claiming that palin stated she said that?
I don't know and furthermore it's irrelevant. If you are going to participate you don't get the benefit of reframing the argument. That argument is about the media falsifying statements she made or blowing them out of proportion.

Well by all means get on your research pony and ride. Again, it's irrelevant, but if you think you can find anyplace I've seriously argued Palin was guilty of saying she could see Russia from her porch, please revive the thread in question.

Yet here we are, in a dumb thread, discussing dumb things.

Can we hold Obama to this same standard? How many states? Childeren with Asthma use breathalyzers?

Well gee Rev, I think we have already done that numerous times in numerous threads. This one is about Palin.

Precisely...

Yeah, but seriously, do we really want to discuss this point? Seriously, her responses to some of the questions in that interview were less than impressive.

No...they were simple and straightforward and made a fatal mistake: expecting her detractors to give it some thought and think about the implications rather than turning completely juvenile and deranged with their criticism.

They have falsified her statements. Do you really believe the left wing posters here ALL watch SNL? Where did they hear it from?

That took 30 seconds, on my deck, with a Cohiba siglo IV hanging from my mouth, watching the BGE get to 800 degrees so I can cook a prime steak.

Fact, Tina fey said it, the msnbc, cnn pundits ran with it. It was a lie, that never was adequately corrected. DP members ran with it.

I'll dig it all up later. you are seriously arguing that no left winger here really believed that is what she said? Come now.... I'd hate for the partisan police to come call you out! :ssst:

Yet here we are, in a dumb thread, discussing dumb things.

yes we are, I have no problem with it. We can discuss it all day long.

If people didn't talk about this, the media wouldn't cover it.

They have falsified her statements. Do you really believe the left wing posters here ALL watch SNL? Where did they hear it from?
And I already stated that I don't care about what left wing posters here stated. You're moving the goal posts. I made it very clear what I was asking for...
I'm talking about issues the MSM grabbed and proliferated. To my knowledge I didn't see MSNBC or CBS claiming Palin said she could see Russia from her front porch.

Well you wasted that effort and didn't prove a thing. Blogs, obscure internet op ed pieces, online diary entries, and Huffington Post are not the MSM.

Fact, Tina fey said it,
Right, that's what SNL does, we've already established that and it's irrelevant to the argument that the MSM falsified or blew it out of proportion.

the msnbc, cnn pundits ran with it.
Okay, they ran with the political humor side of it, or they actually presented what Tine Fey said as something Sarah Palin actually said. Please clarify and substantiate.

It was a lie, that never was adequately corrected.
What was a lie? A political satire skit on SNL? Whoooaa!!!! Again, and correct me if I'm wrong, but SNL isn't what I would call a reliable news source. It's a comedy show.

DP members ran with it.
Big deal. You seen our CT forum? DP members running with something doesn't equate to the MSM falsifying statements.

Do this, finish with your cigar, eat your food, and come back when you can focus. Pay close attention to the question I asked, answer THAT question with relevant information.

I'll dig it all up later. you are seriously arguing that no left winger here really believed that is what she said? Come now.... I'd hate for the partisan police to come call you out! :ssst:
Again, you are offering up irrelevant red herrings. I'll type it again so there is no confusion. I don't care what left wing posters here believed, nor why they believed it. I have asked for examples of the MSM (giving examples such as MSNBC and CBS so that there is no question what the standard is) taking these comments and falsifying them or blowing them out of proportion. Your citing blogs, internet op ed pieces, and other DP members does not rise to the standard that was originally laid out, which was main stream media (MSNBC, CBS, FOX, ABC CNN, etc). No reframing, no moving of the goal posts. By the way, some of your citations didn't actually say she said "I can see Russia from my porch."

Nothing about me asking you to stay within the lines is partisan.

yes we are, I have no problem with it. We can discuss it all day long.
Okay.
