State to seek death penalty in Casey Anthony case

State to seek death penalty in Casey Anthony case

The State Attorney's Office will seek the death penalty against Casey Anthony.

This reverses an earlier decision made by prosecutors.

In a notice filed this afternoon, prosecutors stated that additional information has become available since they filed their initial waiver of intent to seek the death penalty on Dec. 5. The filing states that "sufficient aggravating circumstances exist to justify the imposition of the Death Penalty..."

This is the "cool mom" who was laughing, carrying on, and going out to nightclubs while she was being investigated. Her child just "disappeared." The smell of decaying flesh in her trunk was just "old pizza." Not so funny now, huh?

"We don't execute women in Florida. Juries find it very difficult to send young women to death row," he said.
Oh, that's wonderful. If a man in Florida were to murder his own child in cold blood, lie about it, then laugh about it, what do you think would happen to him?

I read the story but I don't understand who Cindy Anthony is? The grandmother? Anyways I went on YouTube to see who she(Casey Anthony) was and what you said was basically confirmed. As far as somebody who is under investigation for the murder of their kid goes she's pretty friggin' retarded. At least wait until the body is found. What are you? A rookie?

Yep, and that video confused the crap out of me too. I have no idea what was going on there.

Exactly, her actions and demeanor were not characteristic of a mother who whose child was missing, let alone murdered, let alone under investigation for the murder. There still doesn't seem to be definitive evidence linking her to the case, but they'd better look a little damn harder.

I thought she was 'Casey Anthony' but I decided to hold off. I was like 'Uh...she's not that young....and what the hell is this? A College News Show?'

Well I don't know. I wouldn't call her as a psychopath but she certainly does show little care for whatever happened. I mean. If my kid went missing the last thing I'd do is show up at a club and then allow pictures of me to be taken. She seems awfully young to be having kids. I mean I'm probably around her age(early 20s) but she just has that 'still partying' look to her so if she killed her kid thinking it would give her more freedom then it really wouldn't surprise me. The grandmother too seems awfully young. Maybe in her mid 50s. Whatever happened this is a pretty crummy situation.

She's going to fry. There's plenty of evidence against her.

Duct tape off her daughters face that's consistent with duct tape in the home.Trash bag - same as tape evidence. Chloroform evidence from the car, hair/dirt samples from the car. The list goes on and on.

This has been one of the most bizarre case investigations I've ever followed. The behaviour of the defendant is over the top. Honestly, it's going to be hard for her to get a fair trial, it's been a public spectacle from the moment the child was reported missing.

I think her having to sit in jail for the rest of her life is a much better punishment.

Exactly. I think she'd much rather die then sit around in a cell for the rest of her days. Dont give her what she wants and stick that bitch in a jail.

This reminds me of something actually, i heard its apparently punishable by death in texas for attempting to commit suicide? Just stupid.

She is unquestionably a sociopath, just like Scott Peterson is.

Someone alleged that her behavior was atypical. Not for a sociopath. Look at Scott Peterson. THere he was courting a woman telling her his wife had died BEFORE he killed her and their unborn son. Talk about no freaking remorse.

I would like Casey to be in jail for the rest of her life. Although, I saw footage of her making out with two other women (while her daughter was missing). She may like being in jail if she's surrounded by women.

If there is a enough hard evidence then she should get the death penalty, she should be treated no different than anyone else who murders their victim and tries to cover it up.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    Cicero Marcus Tullius
