Piracy is NEVER an honorable act, and ALWAYS punishable by death. Thus has it always been.
Wrong.
First off there is no death penalty for piracy today in the west.
Secondly even back in the hay day of piracy, immortalized by Hollywood movies, at first pirates were not "executed" always. It was only later when piracy was getting real bad, that most nations went over to the principle of execution without any real trial... that is if it was not their own pirates of course .
