I'm sorry, but who gives a rat's ass what we call them? If you want to call them pirates go for it, if you want to call them terrorists do it. Who cares? The point is that they were killed and that the captain was rescued. It's good news regardless.

    Bravo!!
    Dude..

    I bet you're a real hoot at party's.

My point is, in my opinion, there is no difference between a terrorist and a pirate. Geeeeze.

I had someone point a .45 automatic at me once; you would be hard pressed to convince me he was not threatening/terrorizing me.

    Carry on.

I'm suggesting, as was clearly written, that they were not terrorizing an entire populace. I didn't say no one was fearful. It's called reading, try it. ****, I mean if some dude is being a roadraged ass on the road and makes a few people scared, we're gonna go and call that terrorism. You've got to be kidding me. Obviously you have no idea what terrorism actually is.

You've basically defined it so that anyone who acts out against anyone else; even on the small group or individual level, is a terrorist. WTF is that? That makes terrorist useless if we're gonna be stupid enough to label everyone a terrorist. Or maybe you just want more power given to the government by making it seem like a terrorist threat is larger than it is. Hell if road ragers are terrorists, then I am impacted by terrorists personally on a weekly level. We'd best do something before the terrorists win!

    Ludicrous.

So you want to compare a hood robbing a 7-11 to attacking international shipping with RPGs and AK-47's with the blessing of their own nation by terrorists?

It begs the question; you're kidding me right?

And in your denial, you think this is the end of the story?

I think you need to redefine your word of a terrorist, one mans revolutionary is another mans terrorist. Our founders were terrorists.
According to your definition of "terrorist," Bonnie and Clyde, the police, the military, the Fouding Fathers, Captain Blackbeard, you, and I - we're all terrorists!

I have a car alarm on my car. The purpose of the car alarm is to invoke fear or "terror" in the criminal to send them running away. Therefore, I am a terrorist. Right or wrong?

If we accept your definition, then virtually all of us are terrorists and politicians need to stop using the word in a derisive manner because that makes them hypocrites.

So now we move from trite to personal insulting and hyperbole; bravo Captain, you're batting 1,000 for trolling.

The last time I looked, we were on a debate politics forum, not someone's party.

Carry on; I look forward to more of your simplistic baseless personal insults in an effort to avoid any substantive debate.

I never said that this is the end of the story. I'm simply saying that the good news about the guy getting rescued far outshines arguing about stupid bull**** semantics like whether or not its correct to call them pirates or terrorists.

Don't you get it? If we define everybody as terrorists then the government is free to wage war on anybody they choose in the "War on Terror." My car alarm makes me a terrorist, therefore I belong on watchlists, blacklists, and I am subject to wiretapping and unwarranted search and seizure.
