Tea parties have become so popular that they are not just for Republicans any more. Gay activists are now going to throw their own tea party at Boston Harbor.

Don't know about anyone else, but when I saw this, I thought "This is going to give a whole new meaning to the word 'teabagging'". LOL.

I heard Quiznos offered to do the catering for them.

I support Gay causes, and I support people's right to protest. It seems however, when conservatives are FINALLY staging protests, liberal groups have to jump on and hijack. From ACORN planning to go to the protests to collect names for their own usage to gays mimicking the tea parties on the same day, they don't seem to want us to enjoy the freedom to protest and be heard that they've had. It's kinda pathetic, actually.

Homosexuals pay taxes, too. Hell, they pay more taxes because they're not allowed to get tax breaks from marriage.

wa wa wait...I was fine with the gay teabagging parties, but what was that about "ACORN"?

LGBT and Conservatism unite under one common tent. Haha. I love it.

You know Korimyr, I'm gonna stand corrected & apologize. I did not read the article and assumed they were not protesting a tax issue. But dangit, the more the merrier! I hadn't even thought about the marriage tax break. Welcome aboard, Gays and Lesbians! :2wave: Stand with us!

I'm not sure if I can find a link since this was something I heard about off-line. Word is going around to tea party attendees to be aware of signing anything at the rallies. We're hearing that ACORN reps will be there incognito getting participants to sign sheets saying it's in support of the protests. No one knows exactly what ACORN plans on doing with these logs. Organizers are just making sure participants know not to sign anything unless they know exactly who is asking them to sign and they know exactly what it is that they are signing.

eta: According to ACORN, they're just gonna hold rallies of thier own in support of Obama.

Charles Jackson, ACORN's national communications director, told FOXNews.com that the organization will actually be holding rallies of its own.

"ACORN is going to be engaged in a series of rallies across the country on April 15th in support of the priorities outlined in President Obama's first budget -- investments in education, health care, and getting Americans back to work," Jackson wrote in a statement. "This is the first we've heard of these 'tea parties' and, frankly, a gripe-fest by a bunch of conservatives who's preferred economic policies got us in this mess in the first place is of no interest to us."

So yeah, they have to make sure to squash our voices.

Hmmm, I'd say ACORN should lose their tax exempt status as a non-profit non-partisan organization, and should immediately be investigated for fraud.

From their website:

ACORN is a non-profit, non-partisan social justice organization with national headquarters in New York, New Orleans and Washington, D.C.

True.
Media Matters should be given the same probe.

I really like the idea of leftists staging rallies too.
The more the merrier, and if they send out their rent-a-mobs and Obamatrons the press won't be able to ignore it.

ACORN and their ilk will only piss people off and incite folks on the right who normally wouldn't to attend such rallies.

My guess is the leftists, should they show, will try to incite violence.
Time will tell.

Funny - I looked through the article pretty thoroughly and could not find any connection at all to ACORN, which is concerned with getting the black vote out. These organizations are concerned with the gay marriage issue. Again, I just don't see the connection. Do you know something I don't? It looks awfully fishy.

To say ACORN is a get out the vote group, while true, is like saying the IRS is involved with collecting taxes.

ACORN, HuffPo Organizing Efforts to Infiltrate Tax Day Tea Parties
In fact, The Huffington Post has even set up a Web site for so-called citizen journalists to infiltrate the protests.

I say we conservatives should organize our own organization that is the antithesis to ACORN. You know, we could go around, take liberal protestor's names, sign up people to vote, and pull the same intimidation crap they do, amy not be right but it sure would even the playing field.

There is no evidence whatsoever that ACORN is involved in the gay tea party. Your link gives no evidence at all, except to say that "Neil Cavuto from FOX News said so", and Cavuto provides absolutely no evidence.

What would you think if you saw a post that reads a bit like this about the Business and Media Institute, where your link comes from?

The KKK and their ilk will only piss people off and incite folks on the left who normally wouldn't to attend such rallies.
You know, this has to be true. Michael Moore said so.

There is no pleasing some people.... they say they want to be included, to be equal with others, but instead of joining the existing effort, they form their own little tea party. ...

Yes, because I am sure that gay and lesbian activist would be welcome and feel right at home at the right wing tea bagging parties this Wednesday.

Will they be wearing signs? Most gays, lesbians, etc. are not recognizable as such by appearance only. Besides, it might be funny to see the right wing slowly realize that there are a lot of "THEM" attending thier party and supporting one of their causes...

What's REALLY funny is that the Boston Tea Party was a protest against big business and the subsidies the East India Trading company was getting which was putting momand pop tea sellers out of business. Basically it was a protest against the Wal-Martization of tea imports. :rofl Conservatives crack me up.

So you're saying that righties don't show up at liberal rallies or protests to protest the liberals or in support of what the liberals are protesting?
You conservatives crack me up. :rofl

Yeah, did you get a 50pt hot pink text email about that? I heard it was the NRA and not ACORN.

You can't have gays and conservatives at the same rally because the cons might not show up in fear of being outted... :rofl
