Black man's killing by police shakes La. town

Yep, those terrible white people. The ones who fought to abolish slavery.
What about the ones who started slavery in America?

The ones who voted in the 13th, 14th & 15th amendments.
What about the ones who did not?

The ones who abolished the Jim Crow laws, the ones who voted to give blacks the vote.
What about the ones who put the Jim Crow laws in place?

Yep, the last 40 years we've seen every imaginable opportunity presented to minorities in this country. Some grasped the opportunities and ran with it, others, well, we're seeing them make excuses here today in this very thread.

Cause and effect, cause and effect.... :lamo
You are pretty good at painting with a broad brush and making assumptions, but that's about it.

Ah, so black people were just born into slavery? And then white people came along and fought to abolish it? Wow, I didn't realize that. :doh

The point of my comment was that I find it particularly ironic that it's mostly people who are white that are saying that black people should get over racism and move on. I wasn't saying that white people didn't fight to abolish slavery nor did I say that they didn't vote to give African Americans the right to vote.

That's exactly my point. Not everything is black or white. Yet here you are comparing us to people who subscribe to the Jackson/Sharpton rhetoric. The fact that you are incapable of discerning differences between the two shows how out of touch you are.

Man that is just to rich!

I am the reason people don't care? You obviously read nothing and understood even less of what I was saying.

You are not even worth responding to anymore.

You keep saying this

I understood it perfectly fine. Same nonsense, different post

...too rich. :doh

Who said anything about white people being terrible? Well outside of you anyway.

You really need to learn how to read man. :doh

No one has said any such thing outside of you trying desperately to make it appear that way. :sinking:

.

you have my permission to hunt them down and kill them....bring a shovel, you will have to dig them up first...:2razz:

It's much easier to stereotype and attack strawmen than to actually debate.

Just because I respond to your post doesn't mean I am attacking you personallyk, or anyone personally. I am attacking the message, not the messengers. I know plenty of people who play the victim card, and most of them are white. What I said is generic in nature, applies to all....

What in my message is there to attack then?

Mostly white people? Prove it. Substantiate your claim.

Black people should get over it. How many ethnic groups in America have had to endure racism, bigotry and discrimination? We've all been through it, have perserviered, and moved on.

No, BlackDog is of the Sharpton/Jackson school of thought.

What ethnic group are you a part of?

Back again huh.... :lamo

Please point out how many ethnic groups were slaves and suffered under Jim Crow?

No, BlackDog is of the Sharpton/Jackson school of thought.

Just so you understand you are looking like a complete and utter idiot at this point?

Well not Jim Crow specifically, but there were Jim Crow-like laws that affected the Chinese, the Irish, Italians, and the Polish. Just to name a few.

What ethnic group are you a part of?

My heritage is none of your business, but one in which, that was severely discriminated against upon arrival to this country.

You're not clever, so keep your "compared to slavery argument" to yourself.

Yes they were and I would go as far to say the Chinese were treated close to slaves.

In the end they were not taken by force and sold in America as a slave.

But all this has little to do with my initial statement.

Just to add there is a tendency for riots. Now the thing is, why do these people who riots cause criminal activities such as vandalism, destroying and robbing stores/ properties, etc etc because of a unlawful cop killing or beating a black man?

I love these liberal bleeding heart stories... a black male, peaceful, good guy, never did anything wrong, gunned down by trigger happy cops for no REASON! Obviously it was skin color and nothing else that caused this senseless death, and the cops will get off sctt free!

I love how lefties like Hatuey are ready to judge, jury and executioner of the police. What happened to such foreward thinking premises like I dunno... innocent until proven guilty? Or, not rushing to judgement?

I wonder Hatuey, if this had been some black thugs, killing a white man, would you even bother to mention it? Black cops killing an older white man?

Somehow, I think not. You just cannot resist the sirens call of a case of a black man being shot by the cops can you?

Did you read GottaHurt's post that I responded to? What's so great about white people abolishing laws and practices that they started?

Well that's about ignorant. White people didn't start slavery.

Why does it always seem that the blacks on messageboards are the ones running around measuring every word with a black ruler? I mean if they want bigotry to go away, shouldn't they be the last ones to bring any such implications up?

I don't fault blacks for viewing the world through a somewhat racially oriented-lens... any more than I fault myself for viewing the world through a somewhat gay oriented lens. Issues that are dear to our hearts have a way of jumping to the surface more quickly and more often than others.

It's my experience that Christians on message boards are often quick to measure every word with a Christian ruler. And those who smoke pot are often quick to measure every word through, well, a hazy fog of something or other.

It's the content of the posting that I'm more interested in. Not the reason or reasons behind the posting. We all have subjects dear to our own hearts.

:2wave:

Ah, so you are cool with saying that black people wallow in self-pity and you won't divulge information to us because you are afraid of the same thing? That's telling. Keep it up, Champ, you're making my day.
