I don't have a problem with this. At this point in time, I would hope that the situation was in the hands of the American Admirals and Navy chain-of-commands. I don't want a pretty-boy playing with issues concerning modern day scurvy cases.

We will get Obama to address the issue, but not until there is a resolution.

If he was reading my pet goat at the time I think he should have politely excused himself at the time. At the time tis happened he was reading my pet goat for a photo op.

Thank you for this amazingly striking and useful commentary onto the situation. I can only imagine the vast depths of intellect it took to aquire such a stupendous opinion and insight into the issue. I am sure everyones debate here is greatly improved thanks to this wonderful insight.

This is the first time in 200 years an American ship has been attacked by Pirates like this. So you'd think that would elicit a response.. but no there is another reason for nothing from him.

    An open forum.

As stated though in regard to this occurrence, Obama should have made a short and direct comment on the situation and left it at that. There is no reason for him not to give a brief statement other then he was not prepared to say anything as he wasn't briefed yet. If that was the case then I would be seriously concerned with how his advisers are running things on keeping the President up-to-date.

We want the Pirates to stay as irrelevant of an persona as humanely possible. We do not want to mention that they are causing any real strife, or grief (even if they really may be). We don't want their successes of being the pepper in the Giant's lungs, overshadowing the fact that all who comply with violence against the United States will have their tongues ripped out.

We will get word when there's a resolution, because then Obama can say what he wants to and add "in conclusion, we made them our bitches"

You know that is likely right.
Its very likely when he does finally comment that he will be reading it at us.

I doubt he can use this as an excuse to read a speech about race relations at us but you never know.

Is Obama President or a waiter?

How do you know what the heads of our gov't want? Are you secretly Joe Biden?

As usual, Obama could have passed a national test and just said *something* relevant. Once again, he fails as a "great communicator." The crew took that ship back. They didn't need to wait for Rookie Obama to send anyone.
