High court lets Abu-Jamal's conviction stand

The Supreme Court has upheld Mumia Abu-Jamal's conviction on the murder of a police officer. Before he died, the cop managed to shoot Abu-Jamal, and when backup arrived, guess what they found? A dead cop, and Abu-Jamal lying on the ground near the dead officer, the gun that he used to shoot the police officer lying near him. The reason he wants his conviction overturned, despite the overwhelming evidence against him? No blacks were on the jury. So what? Right now, the state is attempting to get the death sentence reinstated on him. I agree. Yes, there are times in which protests against the conviction of an innocent man are completely appropriate. This is not one of them. Let him fry.

    Jack Kevorkian for court physician.
