First time ive heard an American PM say that

Well done Obama - I love this man.

Obama recognized past tensions in the U.S.-Turkey relationship, but said things were on the right track now because both countries share common interests and are diverse nations. "We don't consider ourselves Christian, Jewish, Muslim. We consider ourselves a nation bound by a set of ideals and values," Obama said of the United States. "Turkey has similar principles."
The United States is not a Christian nation. It is one built on secular beliefs. There is a church and state seperation.
Don't mistake a country with a christian majority to mean it IS a christian country.

I'm tuning into FOX. I want to see the reaction, i'm almost breathless to see how they twist it.

Coming from you, not sure if this is sarcasm. I'd appreciate a follow-up.

I don't think it was as evil a statement as some will no doubt make it out to be.

The context is everything, it is not as evil as some seem to make it out.
He merely said US is not one religion but is defined by it's shared values.

    Yeah, I agree with that.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with his statement at all. This is not a "Christian Nation." It is a nation of people who are Christian, Jewish, Atheist, Mormon, Muslim, etc.

The President of this country has no business identifying this nation with specific reference to any religion whatsoever. Our Government does not dictate the religious direction of this nation. Freedom of religion is just that. We decide for ourselves what we personally believe.
    *insert profound statement here*

Like you would know anything about it. Damn woman, you're not American and you want to change the country you're in. You're the last person around here to lecture us on a set of principles.

So i have to be a American to have an opinion on US??
So i assume Americans cannot now discuss Iraq, Iran or Europe seeing they are neither?

Like i would know anything? Do you deny anything i just stated as false?
The United States has a strict church state seperation, even you would know that no?
Christianity is not the defining feature of US, It's Constitution is. Oh and seeing i just finished a 2 year study into the US political system, i assure you i know something

Should i be worried a American has deluded himself into thinking US was founded on a religion?
