Erm, i can't until a review and an inquiry is held otherwise we will never know. The police don't exactly explain themselves

The police are ordered to break up the crowds and move them out of the area. They follow orders, the crowds resist, and all they get is a few thumps on the head from police batons? It could have been worse, the police could have used harsher methods.

Sounds like a good lesson needs to be learned by the protestors. Maybe they should find better ways to protest? Certainly getting spanked on the street like the unruly children they are didn't solve any problems,,,

Why out of the area? They are not there illegal, this was a legal planned protest.
Ordered by who? And for what reason?
Get them out of an area where they were sitting and into another area where they will sit .. what brilliant logic

Clearly, the UK has a compelling interest in protecting the heads of state which were present at the G20 meeting. Whether this action was necessary or not, I cannot know unless they explain themselves. They've likely been gathering intelligence in preparation for this and until I get an explanation for their actions, I will reserve judgment.

Protests occured miles away from the meeting place of Obama or Brown. Just admit it, the police was in the wrong here.

Legal? Did they have government permits?

IF it was a legal, planned protest, and they were being peaceful, the police would not have been trying to get them to leave. Someone ordered them to clear the area, and they are trained to follow orders. Don't like that? Change your government.
And even the lowest level of logic is brilliant compared to the one sided tearfests of the far left liberal loonies....

Every protest inside London has to be noted so the police can ensure that little disruption happens in London and so they can close roads down.
The g20 protests has been planned with the police for weeks before it occured. That is what happens.

The Government is going to change don't worry. Labour is in for a death ride next year elections why do you think Brown is hugging up to Obama, he wants some of his popularity lmao

I can't. I don't possess the knowledge that they do. Therefore, I ask for an explanation. Again, its up to the people of the UK to engage in their civic duty and ask for one.

The right of assembly, association, redress, and protest are innate and inalienable.
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

The problem with these protests is that it only takes a handful of out of control folks to bring the police crashing down on everyone. A few thrown bottles, windows breaking, etc. The perpetrators hide within the crowds causing chaos, vandalism, and violence at every opportunity. The police have to then suddenly play where's Waldo and anyone that doesn't get the hell out of their way and basically leave when things get crazy is going to be treated as part of the problem and IMO rightfully so. The amount of damage a few can do while hidden among the so called peaceful many is out of control. IMO the first window that gets broken, the first bottle thrown, the first car trashed, and ALL protesters should immediately go home. The protest is no longer peaceful and if you stick around you're asking for the cops to come down hard on you. They better come down hard because as a paying tax payer I don't take kindly to my downtown getting trashed for whatever the cause of the week happens to be. The police can't just let these fools run amuck causing tons of $$$ in damage. It's virtually impossible to "capture the few" without disbanding the many. The few hide within the many.

Also ANYONE who takes a child TO ANY protest in this day and age deserves to hauled up on charges of abuse and neglect. You don't take your child into large volatile crowds like that. Here in Olympia I saw women use babies to protect protesters from the police while bank windows were broken, etc. Assholes.
