Re: Four California Police Officers in Critical Condition, Suspect Dead After Traffic

One time I was doing a painting job and at some point I went out on the patio for a bit of fresh air. For some reason, the cops were called on me by one of the retarded neighbors as I must have been as highly "suspicious" character in my paint splattered coveralls.

It was the ground floor of the building, and I was in the living room having my lunch when, unbeknownst to me, Officer "n00b" O'****tard walks up to the patio and opens the door.

I turn to see who the hell just opened the screen door and he says "Do you live here?"

And I start to say "No, I'm the painter" but immediately after I say "No" the gun is out and he's screaming at me to get down on the floor.

So after he's on my back with a gun in my ear, he screams "What're you doing here?!"

    I said, "Painting."

His partner, the veteran cop says with a chuckle, "Well I guess that would explain the smell of paint and the paint cans."

The n00b puts the gun away (finally) and says "Do you know the owner?"

I couldn't help it. From the ground I say, "No, I actually have this compulsion to illegally break into stranger's houses and redecorate."

The veteran started laughing his ass off. Within a few minutes everything was cleared up, but if officer n00b had been just a tad more twitchy with his trigger finger, I'm sure there would have been a debate over his "accidental" shooting of me, that could have easily been prevented if he just let me finish the goddamned sentence before yanking his gun.

He even apologized to me afterward because I'm pretty sure he realized he went "Rambo" way too early.

I was trained not to have my finger on the trigger at all unless I planned to shoot and furthermore I was trained not to point a gun at anybody I wasn't prepared to shoot. I don't know how this compares to police training, but notice the officer is not holding his gun with two hands like a trained police officer but with one hand like a street thug.
What I noticed was that the guy was already on the ground with 2 police officers all over him. There was no need for him to draw his gun at all.

It's pretty clear from watching this that whatever psychological screening was done misfired dramatically with this cop. I haven't looked into his background or years of service. But watching it doesn't make much sense. It looks like he just lost his cool. I suspect all the obscenities being shouted from the crowd freaked him out.

There's a reason soldiers and cops should go through tough training. Not everyone is equipped psychologically and emotionally to handle this kind of situation. It's obvious this guy was not.
