UW-Milwaukee Study Could Realign Climate Change Theory

Except that your choices is producing more pollution than someone who makes responsible choices and that is negatively effecting everyone around you - especially the environment.

My choices are perfectly responsible.

I don't want that ice age to come any sooner than it has to.

Can't be more responsible than that. Certainly nothing wrong with making the world warmer from today, even assuming human activities have affected global climate, which is only an assumption.

That humans are having a negative effect on the habitats of this earth and the natural environments? Good luck on that.

If taxing higher prevents lazy people getting in a car every damn day and walking once in a while - Job well done

So you like shoving your values onto other humans?

I am of the opinion that Climate Change is natural.
Whereas Pollution is not.
Mankind has polluted the Oceans to the extent that all forms of aquatic life are now being polluted, primarily via run off from the land of Agricultural products, Oil spills, Plastic waste, Heavy metals.
The problem in the future will not be Climate Change as it may affect Humankind.
Instead it is likely that by fouling our own backyard we will kill ourselves off.
We kill off the food supply from the Oceans, then we ruin the land with overproduction and poison the ground we use to grow our food.

Pollution is unacceptable because it violates your neighbor's boundaries.

Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant.

There is nothing responsible about lifestyle choices that puts pollution into the air, poisoning everyone else around you in addition to wasting a very finite resource that can not be renewed. Even if you don't believe that there is human-induced climate change, the wasteful use of fossil fuels is STILL an irresponsible choice.

Automobile exhaust most certainly IS a pollutant. Carbon has been so nicely sequestered naturally and we are now irresponsibly reintroducing it into the atmosphere.

What are we supposed to do with fossil fuels, leave them in the ground until the sun expands to a red giant?

They're there.

Use them.

And keeping the planet warm and delaying the coming ice age is a most excellent and prudent use of those fuels, if I may say so myself.

The non-carbon, non-H20 components may be, but our engineering is so finely perfected that almost no nitrogen compounds are released or others.

CO2 is essential for keeping the ice age at bay, H20 is essential for relieving California's drought.

Don't give me no guff about how the amount of H20 is insignificant to California's drought problem. You people argue incessantly that the human contribution of 0.01% of a gas that comprises 1% of the greenhouse gases on the planet is warming up the planet (and thus keeping the ice age away, you guys must love skiing....), so you can't believably argue that 0.00001% of the water contributed to the California atmosphere from combustion of hydrocarbon fuels is insignificant.

Right. Ever ride in a bicycle behind a bus or truck that uses desiel fuel? Plenty of pollution there. Automobiles as a whole release large amounts of pollution. That is an undeniable fact.

By making the planet hotter? I would rather avoid that as well.

Unless California's drought problem is caused BY human-induced climate change.

Dear oh dear, does this debunk Gore?
He couldn't care less, already made his millions from his scare tactics and is influencing his chum 'Fingers Obama'.

A Socialist Government will ALWAYS seek ever more ways to Tax an already overtaxed population.
Gee, lets put a "Cap and trade" policy in place.
For sure this will make people think about whether to heat/cool themselves before being able to afford to put food on their plate.

Cap and Trade, does not mean that pollution will go away, nor even that it will reduce.

All it does mean is that the Government gets more cash from Industry.

These extra costs are then inevitably passed on to their Customers.

YEA, UW-Milwaukee!!!!!!!

There's a reason I don't ride bicycles....what was it...oh, yeah. Bicycle riding merely recycles carbon existing in the biosphere and does nothing to prevent the next ice age.

Not to worry....buses are run by metropolitan governments and are typically exempt from the clean air requirements us peon citizens have to obey. No wonder they're producing pollution as well as CO2 and H2O.

You must remember, CO2 and H2O are not pollutants.

They're the by-products of life.

By making the planet hotter? I would rather avoid that as well.

One generally avoids freezing by raising the room temperature. You have any evidence to believe that the average summer you experienced when you were eight years old was destined to become the mostest and bestest optimalest climate year ever?

Unless California's drought problem is caused BY human-induced climate change.

Probably isn't. No evidence exists to indicate humans have ever had any effect on global climate.

No, the last two centuries do not show that correlation.

The whole idea about Global Warming or Climate Change (or whatever term is used to describe it) is that increasing output of carbon into the environment at the same time as reducing the number of photosynthetic carbon sinks (i.e. trees due to deforestation) is throwing the carbon cycle out of balance.
Human activity is adding to the forcing that green house gases have on the climate.

The point is not whether it gets hotter or gets colder or sea levels rise, the point is global climate instability - that means rapid change at a rate that we cannot acclimate to comfortably.

Sure, things change all the time, why use that as an excuse to force them to change more rapidly than natural & in a direction that would be uncomfortable (i.e. life-threatening) to the majority of the world's population?

Does it take much work to maintain such willful blindness?
