I think it's much harder to get your original body back if you wait till your over 30 to have kids- which is no small thing. It's more likely you'll have to pay for fertility treatments, etc.

Women face a dilemma when it comes to kids that men just don't. Biologically speaking it's better for women to have their kids relatively young. Meanwhile if you wait around to finish college you're bumping up against the end of your peak, age wise. Women are taught they can have it all, do both, do everything. Truth is there are sacrifices and prices to be made no matter what you choose to do. I don't advocate women getting knocked up as teens but there is something to be said for being a relatively young mother and getting all that childbearing done when your body is in the best shape to do it. I couldn't imagine waiting till my 30's to start. Men sacrifice nothing by waiting that long. The same can not be said for women.

Difficult? That's an understatement. After you graduate you have another task: start a career. How are you supposed to have a professional career pregnant? Any serious industry is going to require at least 50 hours a week and flexibility.
And why does your tone suggest that you do not care about children?

    See the dilemma women face?

Yeah, so, be responsible and wait. Or here's a crazy idea: don't have kids.

You know as well as I do that a huge portion of the country has neither the desire nor the need to maintain a "professional career." If the husband makes enough money for the family and the wife wants to stay home and raise the kids, what's wrong with that?
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

I was responsible and waited until I was 26. Now I wonder what the hell I waited for. I mean I wouldn't have wanted a child under the age of 19 but I know now I could have handled things just the same a little sooner.
I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it.

Two incomes is a fiscal necessity in a lot of places in the US. If the husband makes enough, great, but that's increasingly uncommon.

Bah AW, you're horrible, hate your kids, and are white trash. You should've had a forced abortion because you're not 30 apparently.

The notion that age alone should be the determining factor or the main factor as to whether someone should get married or have kids is as asinine as the above notion is.

Or have them, have them young, and work it out. It's very doable. A 17 year old is nowhere near the same as a 22 or 23 year old.

Arguing that one must wait till they are 30 in order to be viewed as sensible is absurd. In fact it's not sensible biologically speaking unless you enjoy the idea of fertility treatments and being a relatively old parent.

I agree with your basic sentiment. If you're not out of high school it's probably not the best idea in the world. But saying you must absolutely wait till you're both in your 30s is ridiculous. The way I see it is someone has to watch the kids, raise them, be the primary care giver. It's not important that the person who is going to do that graduate college before having kids. People have to make choices, before the choices are just made for them because they waited too long.

only if you want to maximize the potential of both yourself and your children
And why does your tone suggest that you do not care about children?
