Alaska Gov. Palin's Daughter, Fiance Break Up

My mom was 18 when she got married, and 19 when her first kid was born. She and my pop are still together after 36 years.

Last I checked, I'm not white trash.

What gave it away, you don't put your pbr in a koozie?

everyone is so behind the times on Pabst.

I know, its pathetic.

I knew it was time to move on when this hot club in our area a couple years ago (we service thier IT) got it on tap.....

If it makes you feel better it's nearly played out now

Yeah, I really don't pay attention to trends actually....

Hell, I order chocolate martini's sometimes.... How gay is that? And is that gay in the cool way?

I want them all to get hooked on Miller high life.... The champagne of beers... Makes one so sick the next day.

actually that's the new thing, at least around here

that and Reading Premium, PA's PBR

It doesn't bother me. I really could care less if people classify me as such because I sometimes drink PBR. I actually drink Guinness more than PBR, but that's besides the point. I honestly just get annoyed by the whole stereotypical group label classification thing. It just comes off as condescending and overly simplified to me. To me, that in and of itself is kind of a stereotypical "hipster" trait.

Why is this news?

I equate this "news" with Martha Stewarts' pet being killed in a blast last week which was on top of my internet provider "News" page. It was above news items pertaining to our economy.:(

you know I rarely notice things like this.... I like my beer. I don't care what you like to drink and what you think is cool...

I did find it funny though to see PBR on tap though at this place. Drinks there are like 25 bucks and up.

Celebrity gossip will most likely always trump actual news. It's very sad but true. News organizations know what sells.

I drink a **** ton of PBR. Because it's 50 cents a can for a pint can if you buy a 30 rack. Otherwise it's 3 bucks for a 12 ounce can and a shot of beam. I don't give a **** if it's the sworn chosen drink of Adolf Hitler, for those prices it's "what'll you have? Pabst Blue Ribbon!" for me.

If for whatever reason it's nice beer time it's going to be a local beer.

When I was in school we drink Rheingold at 3 buck a 6 pack

having worked in bars, putting PBR on tap is the best business decision you can make. You can charge 2 bucks a pint and still make money hand over fist, and anyone who drinks PBR is guaranteed to drink gallons of it.

I'm currently suffering through Beer Week, wherein all my favorite bars change their draft to only have one "featured brewery" and all the locals stay at home, replaced by swarms of suburban douchebags. I hate beer week so much. I like trying new beer and all, but having to wait 20 minutes to get a stool at my local because it's full of people in chinos talking about "the drive in" can seriously lead me to violence.

Wait a second. I have stayed at home with our kids for a week before. My wife and I have to use vacation time when school is for Christmas and Spring break and stay home with the kids.

Its easy, and yes, during that time I take to do things, its still easy. Its much easier than working. If someone thinks kids are a burden then they should not have them.

Life is all about balance. When I get out of work, we go to park, go on bike rides, and so on. As a family we make a day trip somewhere nearly every weekend.

If one of us stayed home, our kids would not be able to do the things they do now because we would not be able to afford it. They would not have been able to go to all the places they have been to. They would not have had the benefit of Montessori Schools before kindergarten. Hell we would not have been able to even adopt our daughter because we would not have been able to afford it.

My point is that there is nothing wrong with most parents working, and I would argue that in this day and age, so long as the parents do strive for that balance between work and family, in many cases its ideal.

 X10! ANYONE can manage a coupla kids for one week. A week does not an expert make. Not even close. For one thing, kids are still on their better behavior when it's just a week. Parenting isn't just bike rides and weekend trips. Try getting up and actually cooking for your kids (and not microwave some Boston Market sodium laced crap), use every freaking conversation as a teaching moment, deal with a vomiting kid, a kid going through a terrible stage, a kid who is sick but the dr can't tell you what it is, keep your house presentable, involve the kids in cleaning to make sure they learn how to respect their surroundings, keep the kids exercised, socialized and academically engaged while you yourself keep throwing up because every few weeks your kids catch crap at school because their friends keep showing up sick cause no one's home to take care of them so they go to school sick. Do that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year after year with no real time off to go fishing quietly, eat lunch quietly, or even take a crap without someone interupting. Not work? Maybe that's because you were BABYSITTING and not PARENTING.

*I'm not complaining about my "job." It's hard work, and I never get to (or want to) call in sick. My TV does not go on during the day (doesn't go on most nights either). I am a working parent the minute I wake up at 6 am and am usually still doing housework when everyone else is in bed. If I steal some time to myself to argue with an elitist snob on the web during the day, I earned that right. And I can afford the other things you wave around because my husband isn't a yuppy who takes time off every little hallmark holiday.

There's a difference between getting parenting tasks done and doing them well. I defy you to tell me my kid is brattier than the kids with moms and dads who work outside the home. One thing he is that your kids probably aren't, is tolerant of other lifestyles.

eta: tending the farm in the 1960's.

I've never noticed that my hang overs vary by quality of drink, only quantity.

I love those people who have all these complex theories about different combinations of liquor being able to mitigate hang overs...no...if you drink half a keg you'll feel like ****, it doesn't matter if you chase it with sunny d, orange juice, grape fruit juice or seltzer water.

I am deathly allergic to cheap beer.

I don't get hangovers from Guinness.

Higher quality beers to me lessen the hangover affect.

I like Guinness and all...but I'd like to point out that there's other porters and stouts...I think sales for the entire non-Guiness world are slumped due to everyone's partiality to Guinness.
