"I do not underestimate the ability of fanatical groups of terrorists to kill and destroy, but they do not threaten the life of the nation. Whether we would survive Hitler hung in the balance, but there is no doubt that we shall survive al-Qa'ida." -- Lord Hoffmann
Castration - BMEzine Encyclopedia
"Castration is the removal or destruction of one or both testicles. It is NOT the removal of the penis (penectomy) or scrotum (scrotal removal or scrotal reduction). "
"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending."
First offense, castration of the gonads, second offense, penis comes off and you get 20 years minimum, third offense, death....
but only when there is clear proof.
We don't want another DA and social worker team ruining the lives of dozens of people like in Bakersfield when dozens of people were accused and imprisoned for up to 20 years, all based on lies fed to the children by the social worker, the deputies, and the DA...
If that happens again, the adult liars should get the same sentence as those charged get, or even MIGHT have gotten....

Truth rings hollow in empty heads.
You doing good up until that last.
Nothing wrong with a good caning to teach a tagger to stop "decorating" someone else's property.
Nothing wrong with executing the guilty. There's no doubt in anyone honest person's mind that Mumia shot that cop, he should have been executed decades ago. There's no doubt that Jose Avilla kidnapped, raped, and murdered little five year old Samantha Runnion, his DNA was in her, her DNA was in his car.
Why isn't that man dead now?
There are cases where the processes could be tightened up some.
There are cases where no sane person has any doubt what happened. In these cases, why shouldn't the culprit be executed? No good reason, is why.
Castration is certainly cruel and unusual.
Hmm...I could actually support this under the following conditions:
1) The offender was guilty of forcible rape, molestation of a child 12 or younger, or murder / attempted murder.
2) This was at least the second offense of this nature since the offender turned 18.
3) A court psychologist determined that the crimes were primarily sexual in nature (a gangster gunning down another gangster doesn't qualify), and that there was a high probability that castration would prevent future offenses.
4) The offender willingly chooses castration in exchange for leniency.
Are you coming to bed?
I can't. This is important.
Someone is WRONG on the internet! -XKCD
The article seemed to indicate that the castration was voluntary. As long as the procedure isn't forced, I have no issue with it.
As Laila said before - the two punishments (Death Penalty + Castration) are quite different. i.e. there are treatments that can alleviate the treatment of one and only miracles will alleviate the other.
I would classify castration as cruel and unusual under the Geneva Convention, although if Europeans agree to this, it will suddenly be "ok" in the books of the UN. After all, that's how the UN works!
If Europeans agree to this, I no longer want to hear pro-choice arguments for abortion and talk about a woman's sovereignty to her body. A person's bodily rights are NEVER waived, regardless if they are criminal or not.
