Russian media has been poking fun at US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after she gave her Russian counterpart a "reset" button with an ironic misspelling.
Clinton's gift to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at their meeting in Geneva on Friday evening was meant to underscore the Obama administration's readiness to "to press the reset button" in ties with Moscow. But instead of the Russian word for "reset" (perezagruzka) it featured a slightly different word meaning "overload" or "overcharged" (peregruzka). Daily newspaper Kommersant put a prominent picture of the fake red button on its front page and declared: "Sergei Lavrov and Hillary Clinton pushed the wrong button."
See this is what the Obama administration considers serious foreign policy. :doh

What a total freakin' embarassment !!!!

I wonder if the button WAS overpriced...
hmm....

This demands immediate attention and research!!!

Yes, the Obama administration is "restoring" America alright, back to the days of Carter, when the whole world was pointing & laughing at us.

You'd think they'd be able to hire someone to do that, wouldn't you?

:rofl

Indeed. Clinton in the press conference said they "worked real hard to get the translation right".

Epic Fail in front of the whole world.

The word peregzuska has a number of meanings meaning – reboot for PC users and programmers, - scroll to the end here:

and overload, too much weight for others not meaning to speak computers, pilots are just an example:
Àâèàöèÿ Îáùåãî Íàçíà÷åíèÿ - Òóìàí è âåòåð êàê îïàñíûå äëÿ ëåòàòåëüíûõ àïïàðàòîâ ÿâëåíèÿ ïðèðîäû.
the word perezagruzka Lavrov is using would be referring to RELOAD, Matrix Reloaded.

In Geneva, Sergei Lavrov met and Hillary Clinton
06.03.2009 | 21:30

Over dinner at the hotel «Intercontinental» U.S. Secretary of State headed the Foreign Ministry gave Russia the button that says «overload». FM clicked this button, while Lavrov said that the gift from the Clinton is misspellings. It is obvious that the button should have been written by another word - «reboot». Clinton laughed, RIA Novosti, and promised that would not allow «overload» in Russian-American relations.
Sergey Lavrov, and Hillary Clinton have loaded the agenda

heads of diplomatic agencies of the Russian Federation and the United States has been talking until late yesterday evening.

At the same time, the Kommersant" sites " that the Russian Foreign Ministry urged not to expect [make] any sensational outcome of the Geneva talks. "The main objective of Lavrov and Clinton is the preparation of the most constructive agenda for the meeting between Presidents Medvedev and Obama. Diplomats identify those areas where cooperation is possible and the most problematic issues in our relations", - told "Kommersant" senior Russian diplomat said.

The head of article is autotranslated as:
Reboot after reloading ======= perezagruzka after zagruzka.

When you play video – you will see zagruska =loading (video is loading.)

Pere in peregruzka is more like re in reboot, not like over in overload, as over may be a separate word but re and pere are not separate words.

In Russian F*** language they can say “why did you load so much, immediately and quickly unload everything’’ using only one word. (NaHUYA doHUYA naHUYAchili,
rasHUYAchivai naHUY.)

NaGRUZI, pereGRUZI, zaGRUZI, razGRUZI, doGRUZI, nedoGRUZI, perezaGRUZI…

‘’Ne GRUZI’’ may also mean – cut your BS.

Cutting through BS, Russian press does not poke any fun. Lavrov just pointed that the word had another meaning, the wolf-diplomat found something to get into a position which could be a hair higher than the counterpart’s position when he had to react in some way to the product of a kindergarten project – you know how they do “projects” in kindergartens – Hillary had found possible to bring the product of a kindergarten project to the gathering of adults… but so far we don’t really know what Obama administration brings to the table of adults. So far it is just a reminder, - you are not dealing with kindergarten children, but with wolves.

Hillary got into a defensive position, - which was wrong, weak, which showed her incapability. There could be different variants of her reply… showing a sharp mind... if she had any...

But it is not such a big failure... yet... Too much a do... I would skip these kindergarten things for now..

The sad part is that the mistranslation only made the gift ever so slightly more stupid
