Not relevant to the debate over the stimulus package. Whether you like it or not, there are still two parties in the congress and many Americans don't like having their candidates silenced and pressed out of discussion about how hundreds of billions is going to be spent.Moreover, we had a debate on which direction the American people wanted the country to go, it was the election last year. Both sides spent 2 years making their case to the American people and the American people chose Obama overwhelmingly.
Argumentum ad populum. Dismissed.Personally, I care far more about results than ideology. I don't agree with all Obama's economic agenda and have stated as much in other threads, but in the end, considering the crisis we find ourselves in, and for that matter the economic crisis the rest of the world is in, I would rather his economic policies succeed than to be right about where I disagree with them on.
I think the vast majority of Americans feel the same way.
