It wasn't a smart comment, I imagine he'll be getting some flak over it. But his statement isn't wrong. When we look at SES, there's no doubt that minorities are the ones who have it harder. Still, not a smart comment, at the political level.

    Percentage-wise?

how is it harder on black people?
    Default by SES.

To clarify though, I am not suggesting that African Americans are targeted, or that the situation is made harder on them intentionally. Simply, it is what it is.

Check the percentages. There are a higher percentage of blacks on welfare than whites among the individual races. I'd imagine that's what Lightdemon meant. I remember reading this somewhere. Regardless, Obama needs not to bring race into this.

I thought we were all Americans... That's what the guy who's president said... but now it's back to Balkanizing.

In a spirit of Unity... why not dump these divisive groups.

You don't get the following? Not surprised.

I think after four years you're going to be really tired. Cowering is a tiresome endeavor I've heard.

One week we are slandered by the AG for being cowards on race... American speaks openly about it and is slandered as being quasi-racist by the Mod.

Why not let people say what they want so long as it is not openly racist?

    Is what American stated accurate?
If it is, shouldn't they get off their asses, quit complaining and get to work?

American said nothing different from Bill Cosby or Obama himself... get off your ass and get a job... take care of your family... your babies... this same tone comes from Cosby but sounds like American... Is Bill Cosby a racist?

Can only black people ask or tell their own kind that they should get on with life, take advantage of the great opportunity America offers and quit looking to Mommy Dearest DC for their meal ticket?

The unemployment rate continued to trend upward in January for adult men
(7.6 percent), adult women (6.2 percent), whites (6.9 percent), blacks (12.6
    percent)
    Employment Situation Summary

If current trends continue, it means that a black male in the United States would have about a 1 in 3 chance of going to prison during his lifetime. For a Hispanic male, it's 1 in 6; for a white male, 1 in 17.

"Why are there so many out-of-wedlock births in the African-American community?" He asks, and presents statistics indicating that nearly 70% of black babies are born out of wedlock - surely an incredible figure.

Even Bill Cosby (much to the embarassment and ire of some members of the black community) has confronted the black community and caused controversy, chastising young black men for "beating up your women because you can't find a job,"

Obama's similar overtures to American ... had Jesse Jackson, the model poverty pimp... wanting to cut out Obama's nuts... and Jackson added for good measure that Obama is nothing more than a "no-good half-breed N*****".

I guess asking for personal responsibility is a no-no amongst the poverty pimps.

Based on facts, American was right to make his statement... you Mr. Mod wrong to smear his remarks as quasi racist.

Is Geralndine Ferraro also racist for pointing out Obama would have had ZERO chance to make it out of Iowa had it not been for the color of his skin?

You're exactly right. The left goes around race baiting and throwing the race card as if trump, then scream bigotry when someone points out their idiocy and doesn't subscribe to their PC descriptions of non whites. We hear African-American, Latino, Asian-American or Muslim Communities as if they are all seperate entities within our country. The real dividers in America are the PC left, who feel the need to label, or classify people.

I always thought if you were a legal citizen, you're an American, period.
