This is disgusting. Mahathir is a race baiter - he has been for a long time, basically forcing policies in Malaysia that are discriminatory against Chinese and Indians in Malaysia for decades. However, given his pro-Islamic rhetoric and leadership he has in the OIC, I would have expected him to come out in support of his co-religionists from Arakan in western Burma. Then again, he is an authoritarian at heart so it should not be a surprise that he would come out in support of the dictators in Burma. Malaysia is such a lovely country with wonderful people who continue to be tainted by this semi-dictator with no regard whatsoever for a shared humanity, even among his fellow Muslims.
If this is how Consul General Ye typifies them and if this is typical of the feelings of Burma's government (and it clearly is), they should be given all possible assistance by the international community and not shoved out to sea by the Thai government or anyone else.
Shameful.
CHA-AM, Thailand – Malaysia's prime minister has called for Myanmar's Muslim boat people to be pushed back if they attempt to land on any Southeast Asian shores in search of asylum, according to newspaper reports Friday.

Myanmar's consul general in Hong Kong, Ye Myint Aung, earlier this month described Rohingya people as "ugly as ogres" in a letter to media and diplomats.
