Anti-war *****fist(*****+pacifist, Yeah I know those words mean the same thing,so it is a little ) have absolutely no business trying to dictate how wars should be fought. If they do not like the fact our country engages in war every now and then, then they should pack their **** up and move to France,Canada or Switzerland.

Washington Times - Antiwar groups want Obama to forget pledge
The antiwar left blasted former President George W. Bush for "lying" about the war in Iraq — "Bush lied, people died" — but now some feel betrayed that President Obama is keeping his word about Afghanistan.

Mr. Obama on Wednesday announced the deployment of 17,000 troops to Afghanistan in keeping with his position as a candidate that the United States needs to redouble its efforts there.

Many antiwar activists, including some who supported Mr. Obama, were angered by the move, with some saying they had hoped his war stance was "just campaign talk."

"I'm very upset; he promised change, and this is not change. It's just going to create more deaths on both sides and create more terrorists," said Jodie Evans, co-founder of Code Pink. The group, known for protests and targeting Bush administration officials, posted a statement Thursday condemning Mr. Obama's decision and urging him to replace the combat troops with "humanitarian troops."

"Afghanistan needs troops of doctors, farmers, teachers, not more troops," the statement says.

During last year's election, Miss Evans was a strong supporter of Mr. Obama and was listed as a "bundler" on his campaign Web site, raising between $50,000 and $100,000 for the future president.

You know, that comment shows just how bloody ignorant you are. Are you aware that Canadians have been stationed in Afghanistan since the start of that war, fighting for our American friends? Over 100 Canadian soldiers have lost their lives, yet you have no problem calling us *****fists? How disgraceful.

Canadian troops in Afghanistan as 9/11 'retribution

About 2,500 Canadian soldiers are among the 50,700 soldiers from around the world serving in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan – About 48,250 American troops (including National Guard) are in Afghanistan,

Considering their history sympathizing with deserter scum in the past, one has to wonder(yes I know Canada recently kicked out a few deserters).

The legitimacy of pecan pie is for another thread.

Props to President Obama for sending more troops to Afghanistan, should have been done a LONG time ago. The original number was supposed to be 30,000 was it not?

Thank you.

I second this. Canada is not only stationed in the war, it is leading the entire Southern mission. While the U.S. ditched its original intentions to stop the Taliban and find Osama in favour of going for oil-rich Iraq, the rest of NATO has been hanging on for dear life.

I'm tired of the finger pointing. Obama is doing the right thing in restoring the original intention of the "war on terror" after 9-11: disable the Taliban, find Bin Laden, and bring justice to the victims of 9-11.

Amen, Orius.

And Winston, glad to know that some Americans do appreciate the Canadian effort in Afghanistan. So back at ya.

I thought this thread was going to be about Obama's recent decision to keep combat troops in Iraq past the 16 month deadline he promised to keep.

Damn, I wrote "find Obama" instead of "find Osama"...

Although, I'm sure by now it's obvious that both are in the White House. :p

Yes. We strive for that funky sewer-like backwash taste of Old Milwaukee, but it just never comes out right. :rofl

Give it time. It takes just the right aging on the polluted water to make it taste as good as an Old Mil.

I thought it was going to be about the Pledge of Allegiance.

You're alone, most of the left said the war in Afghanistan was legit.

No.
I believe the Afghanistan war was legit. Look up some of my posts back in '05-'06.

I think Pecan pie is legitimate as hell, I guess y'all don't share the same view.

My fault.

Some of the West Coast beers from the microbreweries are good... like Granville Island ale... mmm... especially the winter one!

I have also served with Canadians while in the COast Guard in the north Atlantic. They were very good at their jobs and wonderful to work (and party) with.
