Huge crowd greets Obama on Hill

Dude, get your head out of your buttocks, it was a blatant attempt to join into an insult fest started by you against me.

Now back to the thread topic, was their a coherent point you wanted to make? Or are you unable to do that and only able to come in here to incessantly whine about others including me?

So that's a no. Okay. Gotcha.

If I had known beforehand that Obama winning the Presidency would have caused 4 long years of constant, tired and annoying "OBAMA IS THE MESSIAH!" comments like this from hardcore Conservatives like yourself I probably would have voted for McCain.

You need to research the origins of the phrase. Here is an article from January 29, 2007, from the liberal Slate Magazine no less, already remarking on how the press and his fans are treating him as a Messiah:
Is Barack Obama—junior U.S. senator from Illinois, best-selling author, Harvard Law Review editor, Men's Vogue cover model, and "exploratory" presidential candidate—the second coming of our Savior and our Redeemer, Prince of Peace and King of Kings, Jesus Christ? His press coverage suggests we can't dismiss this possibility out of hand. I therefore inaugurate the Obama Messiah Watch, which will periodically highlight gratuitously adoring biographical details that appear in newspaper, television, and magazine profiles of this otherworldly presence in our midst.

It doesn't help when the Messiah himself refers to how the world will rejoice when he stops the rise of the oceans, etc.

But seriously, I thought that Middleground attempted to make this a somewhat fun post with the "not bathing for a month" comment. I just thought that the "tingling feeling up the leg" was an appropriate response. I don't see anything controversial in this thread, except if we want to question the sanity of the throngs of Canadians flocking to see Obama. Hell, Americans and Germans suffer from the same affliction!

And I'm sure that Paris Hilton would also get a big crowd if she deigned to step foot in Canada. Celebrity worship is a worldwide phenomenon.

First of all, I think that was a sarcastic and humorous comment on the part of the magazine. Secondly, please show where does Obama refers to these things that you've posted.

First of all, I think that was a sarcastic and humorous comment on the part of the magazine.

No, they're being serious. Long after they published that piece we saw even weirder accolades and Messiah references in the liberal press. Here is a San Francisco Chronicle piece, again not from a Republican mocking Senator Obama, but from a fellow cult-member:
Barack Obama isn't really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway.

This is what I find myself offering up more and more in response to the whiners and the frowners and to those with broken or sadly dysfunctional karmic antennae - or no antennae at all - to all those who just don't understand and maybe even actively recoil against all this chatter about Obama's aura and feel and MLK/JFK-like vibe.

To them I say, all right, you want to know what it is? The appeal, the pull, the ethereal and magical thing that seems to enthrall millions of people from all over the world, that keeps opening up and firing into new channels of the culture normally completely unaffected by politics?

No, it's not merely his youthful vigor, or handsomeness, or even inspiring rhetoric. It is not fresh ideas or cool charisma or the fact that a black president will be historic and revolutionary in about a thousand different ways. It is something more. Even Bill Clinton, with all his effortless, winking charm, didn't have what Obama has, which is a sort of powerful luminosity, a unique high-vibration integrity.

Dismiss it all you like, but I've heard from far too many enormously smart, wise, spiritually attuned people who've been intuitively blown away by Obama's presence - not speeches, not policies, but sheer presence - to say it's just a clever marketing ploy, a slick gambit carefully orchestrated by hotshot campaign organizers who, once Obama gets into office, will suddenly turn from perky optimists to vile soul-sucking lobbyist whores, with Obama as their suddenly evil, cackling overlord.

Here's where it gets gooey. Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

The unusual thing is, true Lightworkers almost never appear on such a brutal, spiritually demeaning stage as national politics. This is why Obama is so rare. And this why he is so often compared to Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., to those leaders in our culture whose stirring vibrations still resonate throughout our short history

Secondly, please show where does Obama refers to these things that you've posted.

You never fail to impress.

I am right wing, I am personally very conservative, but view the world as a Libertarian.

You are far left wing. Maybe just a little left wing up ther in America's hat.... But you are far left.

You are far more hyper-partisan than I.

You can link me to your posts that are middleground to prove me wrong, I will wait.

Having said that, I rarely started any thread regarding Bush, especially after every time he farted. You can say I'm anti-fluff. :2razz:

Lets see your posts where you agree with bush. I will wait.

It's not worth the effort. You can think what you want to think, your opinion means nothing to me. So go on, keep thinking I'm Joe Hill... I don't care.

I would offer up that sometimes the things people don't comment on can indicate something too. Have you ever passed up an opportunity to criticize a liberal?

How so?

But yeah sure I have, I have even agreed with them at times.

But hey we are on a debate forum, Commenting on things we agree on and disagree on is sorta how we do, no?

Sure, no one said that you can't comment on things. You've called people nitpicky while you whine about teleprompters and inject partisanship into traffic stops. No one has stopped you. It just shows us how partisan you are.

You gonna bitch about me all week IT?

You are so full of **** its getting rather pathetic.

Aren't your obamalips getting chapped?

quite frankly I am getting tired of you and your little cliques little tantrums and avoidance of any actual discussion regarding Obama....

It's pathetic, but more and more so par for the course of Obama True Believers.

A crowd gathers every time Paris Hilton bares her unshaved lady bits. That doesn't mean they love her. It just means they like carnivals & sluts.

It's funny, because you were the one bitching about me in another thread without provokation. You are the one who is throwing this tantrum everywhere. When people challenge you, you ridicule them. When they ignore you, you ridicule them. When people call you on this, you say, "but this is a debate site, no?"

Wash.
Rinse.
Repeat.

Cue "Obamanation, Obamatron, True Believers, Messiah, Dear Leader, The One, Obamaphiliacs, etc" automated response.

I used to appreciate sluts, then I got married.

Carnies ruin carnivals.

Do you have anything in trainwrecks?

Whatever IT. You post one liners, never post anything that matters, make your little attacks, and your snide comments against certain posters.

No critisizm is valid to you of your dear leaders. Yes DEAR LEADER, you are a jonestown obama kool-aid drinker and you do nothing but troll any poster who dares critisize your idol.

It is pathetic, and old.

Oh and I don't ridicule anyone until they start in on me. Your selective manginitus is expected.

Your bitchfests are played, as is your intellectual capital.

You hit the nail squarely on the head, IT.

Reverend always complains that threads turn personal against him. Here's a clue why.

You can't slime all over people and expect them to sit in the corner. Threads turn ugly on him because of what he contributes to them.

Easy.

Who did I slime over. Who attacked who first?

Stop lying. Liars are not very attractive.

You all want to make everything about the Good Reverend. I will turn it around on you.

You give what you get.

WTF did you contribute to this obamagasm thread?

:rofl

You really can't help yourself.

You do it all the time, Reverend and quite honestly it's tiresome. You bitch and complain, point and prod and then lay down the victim card.

It's just what you do

You should ask yourself why you do these things.

I think if you read Rev's posts, he really does make some good points. I like him. He's not overly wordy, yet he gets his point across. He's funny, too.

You should ask yourself why you are so wet for the Good Reverend. Why must you and your ilk derail every thread about your messiah to attack other posters...

Once again you show your intellectual capital being in the red and you are a liar, and your personal attacks are seen for what they are. Empty whiny liberal bitching.

But don't worry, because today I am responding to yours and IT's and others peurile derailing we will all get yelled at.
