On the flip side, yes the Democrats use the "racist" painting far too often, which is just as bad and does not help. Because when there is actually a racist episode, the right can just dismiss it as another lefty hyperhole on the issue. The "monkey" song is a great example. Yes calling a black man a monkey is racist, but the right were given a free pass somewhat by saying it was a joke.
You start out even-handed, but then you seem to have forgotten to finish the second part of your statement, where you acknowledge that plenty of people who are critical of Israel are so because they're anti-Semitic, that it's swept under the rug in Europe, especially by liberals, etc.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

I don't know about some far-out groups but most Europeans, Aussies and such are more critical of Israel certainly but most of this has nothing to do with anti-semiticism. In fact I'd go as far to suggest it is simply that a lot of Americans suspend ciritcism of Israel more than they would other nations so to speak.

    Pete:

Your first quote showed a glimmer of hope, but then you reveal you are full of it.
It's just words... as we read on... then we realize you do not believe what you wrote.
But why would that surprise. You're a socialist and words don't mean Diddly.

    You're disgusting.
    Why especially republicans?
We have always aimed for equality under the law.
    Always.

Republicans are not race pimps. It is not our history.
Ours is... a pursuit and defense of FREEDOM, and creating One America, not a hyphenated America. African-American... Mexican-American... Gay-American... That landscape is owned, paid for, and invested heavily in by the Democrat Party.

Republicans don't buy into the Balkanized bull**** the Democrat party has been pulling on the country to make up for their 150 years of racial intolerance. The Democrats long PERFECT history of Slave embracing ways.

We Republicans love nothing more than to rid society of this race baiting, race pimping BS.
But the Leftists like you NEVER lets it go.
    They cannot.
They cannot afford to because losing their monopoly would mean disaster.
So they keep their constituents dependent on government and then blame Republicans when they want to reduce the influence of government in our lives.

Listen to this RACE PIMP; Representative Cyburn (D-SC)
“The governor of Louisiana expressed opposition. Has the highest African-American population in the country. Governor of Mississippi expressed opposition. The governor of Texas, and the governor of South Carolina. These four governor’s represent states that are in the black belt. I was insulted by that,” Clyburn said. “All of this was a slap in the face of African-Americans.
He reveal the mentality of the race baiting Democrat party.
They see this not as "stimulus" but as a payback to the black community.
And if the Governors do not take it... They are "Racist".

The Democrats, when they see a minority has left the DEMOCRAT PLANTATION... they try to DESTROY blacks and other minorities.
Look at what happened to Justice Thomas. Gonzales.

Minorities in the Republican party are not celebrated by the left or the media.
They are shunned. Mocked. Ridiculed. Or ignored.
    Destroyed if possible.

Did you read Clarence Thomas' book?
    You should.
He singles out you and your kind of gutless, guilt filled zombies as the AIDS virus of race relations.
Not quite in those words... I thought I'd sum up the sentiment.

So yes the US is a nation of cowards when it comes to racial matters.
You are sick. Just as sick as Holder, Obama, Obama's wife, Wright, Pfleger, Meeks, Jackson, Ayers, Farrakhan and Sharpton.

This nation has been in one constant discussion about race my entire lifetime. To claim otherwise is a flat out lie, and my guess is it has to do with Politics as Usual for the left. They're trying to put out the fire (my ass) with tanker trucks of gasoline dribbling their elixir at just the right pace so the fires become infernos.

That's how the Democrats like it and the country. Hot, irritated, divisive... a little like Hitler used the Jews as scapegoats.

Is there any need for this? It seems to serve no purpose and be a loose use of language.

Anyway real Conservatives use the term Jacobins.

Re: Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters

PeteEU, a few questions for you:

True or False, there is a serving Us Senator that once was the Grand Dragon of the KKK (or whatever they call it)?

If so, which party is he in?

One party supports programs which give benefits to people based on having the right skin color, and denies them to those with the wrong skin color. Is this racist in your mind?
(remember, Martin Luther King Jr's famous speech? I have a dream, that one a man will be judged not by the color of his skin, but on the merit of his character.)

    Which Party freed the slaves?

Which Party voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1965?

Please answer them. I'd love to hear your answers.

Which party is a former kkk grand pubah still in?

    Oh and

Duke ran as a Democrat for the Louisiana Senate in 1975. In 1988, he ran in the Democratic presidential primaries. After a poor showing, he appeared on many state ballots in the general election as the nominee of the Populist Party. He received just 47,047 votes.

    What party indeed?

Apparently Smith isn’t aware that David Duke began his political career as a Democrat, running for the Louisiana Senate in 1975, and in the Democratic presidential primaries in 1988. Smith could just as accurately have described Duke as belonging to the “racist fringe” of the Democratic Party—but this doesn’t fit into his ideological bias.

Little Green Footballs - David Duke - A Racist 'Republican'?
I know nobody that accepts David Duke as a Republican.
The moron has ZERO platform or sway with the party.

To drive the point home, the Republican Leadership Council has strongly denounced Duke.
Washington, DC — Mark Miller, Executive Director of the Republican Leadership Council (RLC), today applauded RNC Chairman Jim Nicholson for his swift denunciation of David Duke and called on other Republicans to publicly oppose the candidacy of the former Klansman and neo-Nazi sympathizer.

“Republicans of every ideological persuasion can agree that David Duke’s latest foray into GOP electoral politics must be opposed, and his candidacy for the House of Representatives denied legitimacy,” said Miller. “We applaud RNC Chairman Nicholson’s quick opposition to Duke’s divisive agenda, and we call on other conservative leaders and groups to state for the record their opposition to his candidacy.”
The Democrats put Sen. Byrd of KKK fame in a leadership position.
Sen. Ernst Hollins (D-SC) had a loose tongue about race by any measure.
The Kennedy's... royalty to their party and Euro socialists has been dealt with earlier in this thred.
President Johnston has an interesting record of questionable race statements.
Jesse Jackson, who ran for President is the official Castrator of Blacks in the Democrat Party.
Rev. Wright cannot be denounced vociferously by a presidential nominee for his Anti-American and race based tirades.
Sharpton, a Democrat candidate for the presidency is the Model Race Baitor.

No denunciation from the Leftists of these folks... instead they are found at the highest rungs of the Democrat Party and Machine... and are defended.

    The Democrats defended Rev. Wright.
    Obama did too.
Most Americans realized after 2 weeks of listening to this guy he was poison.
Obama sat there and inhaled this toxic waste for 20-years... before dumping the fool.
If he did not run for President, he would be in the pews at Trinity United Church tomorrow with his wife and kids, inhaling the crap spewed by The Man about Whitey and the KKK of A.

But when some clown tries to associate himself with the Republican party AND WE REJECT HIM OPENLY AND REPEATEDLY the Leftists jump up and down with glee and point to him as our racist.
Democrat Senators organized the record Senate filibuster of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Included among the organizers were several prominent and well known liberal Democrat standard bearers including:

    - Robert Byrd, current senator from West Virginia
    - J. William Fulbright, Arkansas senator and political mentor of Bill Clinton
    - Albert Gore Sr., Tennessee senator, father and political mentor of Al Gore. Gore Jr. has been known to lie about his father's opposition to the Civil Rights Act.
    - Sam Ervin, North Carolina senator of Watergate hearings fame
    - Richard Russell, famed Georgia senator and later President Pro Tempore

The complete list of the 21 Democrats who opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 includes Senators:

    - Hill and Sparkman of Alabama
    - Fulbright and McClellan of Arkansas
    - Holland and Smathers of Florida
    - Russell and Talmadge of Georgia
    - Ellender and Long of Louisiana
    - Eastland and Stennis of Mississippi
    - Ervin and Jordan of North Carolina
    - Johnston and Thurmond of South Carolina
    - Gore Sr. and Walters of Tennessee
    - H. Byrd and Robertson of Virginia
    - R. Byrd of West Virginia

Re: Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters

This is ridiculous. The Republican party pre-Johnson is not the same Republican party of today. FFS.

Because Abraham made a great P.R. move does not deem the Republican party as the pure-party in any sense.
Look up 1818 constitution of Connecticut and you will see that the Republican party was just as unaccepting of the nature of black people as the Dixiecrats.

Which Party voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1965?
Both parties voted. However the Dixiecrats decided to filibuster it, as a Goldwater would agree with, because it was firm belief that the government should get it's hands out of social life.
However, a Democrat-Northern signed the bill. It was further enforced by a Southern-Democrat (not dixiecrat, mind you) named Lyndon B. Johnson.
