How do you tax someone for online porn, which makes up the majority of the industry?
 
Well New Yorkers are taxed on pretty much everything else, so I don't see how this is any different.

But as already stated, not sure how you're gonna tax online porn. Not without some horribly intrusive monitoring thing and that would be well worse than the tax itself.

Perhaps Paterson should have taxed whores too?
Then again, this might hit the Spitzer household a little too hard and screw up Elliot's book keeping. LOL.

Yes.
One almost forgets about Upstate. I did for a moment.

Perhaps it can be broken into two states.
NYC and burbs making one state.
We'd get a hair closer to Obama's 57 states.

We could split CA into NoCal and Socal.
Getting closer.

Perhaps we could annex Tijuana and call it a state or leave Tijuana out of the equation... leave it like Switzerland and take all of Baja.

This would be possible only for online porn distributors who base out of New York itself just as you are obligated to pay sales tax on items you purchase in your state online. Outside the city/state and you run into major problems as you can't charge someone from another state your state's taxes. Federal basis sure, state, no. Another alcohol tax would probably generate more money than this.

They really are going to drive people out of NY with all of this tomfoolerey aren't they?
