Make Congress Read Their Bills Before Voting
This is ridiculous a single person can not possibly read most legislation or for that matter do all the research required to understand a single bill. That's why they have aides who help them with such matters. Specially when a bill is over 2-300 pages long.

They still end up not reading most of most bills that go through congress. This one I would have hoped they give more time for.

The sheer amount of bills passed each year and their size precludes that. Gov't is way too centralised and way too big.

    Republicans did good in this.

They almost universally opposed what is widely seen as little more then a Pork Bill being portrayed as a "stimulus".

While much of the media has been hyping it as the OBAMA Plan, Or Obama's big win, etc.

In less then a month the Republicans turned the tables on the messiah and now have him in a corner. Hopefully they will keep it up and block/impede as many of his policies as possible.

Can you read 1100 pages in 12 hours?
    Some can.

But can you read 110 pages and think through the ramifications of all the blarney inserted? No.

It's when the government inserts itself into areas it has no business. The Constitution can be used as the floor from which to measure... and...

... by any measure it's pork.
    Republican... Democrat... Martian.

The private sector is stimulated by the reduction in government intervention.

The only thing this is stimulating is the Democrat party.

Tax reductions increases government revenue because it stimulates the private sector.

Tax cuts...Creates jobs... Increasing employment... Increasing salaries. Increasing government revenues.

    Always has.
JFK (R-MA) knew this cold and espoused it.

The trick is to cut government spending... or at least freeze it for several years.

And by definition... a cut... is when the spending increase isn't met. That's how they measure a "cut" in Washington.

So, you would rather thieve wealth from the private sector, run it through government, and build debt?

    Makes no sense.

If a market segment fails, there is a huge amount of economic activity to make it a wash in the big picture. If government fails, as it did with Freddie and Fannie... everyone gets screwed.

The hangover comes from trying to "help" people. When government want to "help" in reality the end up "screwing".

    Limited government makes limited problems.
