Global Economic Crisis Poses Top Threat to U.S., Spy Chief Warns

Today, The New York Times reported:

The new director of national intelligence told Congress on Thursday that global economic turmoil and the instability it could ignite had outpaced terrorism as the most urgent threat facing the United States.

The assessment underscored concern inside America’s intelligence agencies not only about the fallout from the economic crisis around the globe, but also about long-term harm to America’s reputation. The crisis that began in American markets has already “increased questioning of U.S. stewardship of the global economy,” the intelligence chief, Dennis C. Blair, said.

    You think.....

this Mr. Blair stated the obvious. Terrorism doesn't affect all Americans... money, on the other hand...

First term goals of Muslims are:
    1. To limit the US influence on the globe and 1st of all in their regions.
    2. Cause economic and political turmoil and instability in the US and Europe (possibly confrontation between the US and Europe, or mutual agreement that Muslims are not a treat, but white Christians are))
    3. Collapse of the US and turning The US in a second grade power, a mid-European like country due to economic fall, social divisions and political turmoil, - as the ultimate goal of the step #1 in spreading Islam.

Now when Obama’s team is set to work hard on the 3 tasks named above, Muslims can sit back for a while.
The report also outlines a good success of Bush administration in weakening Al-Quada, and as we know Obama promised to change it and we know that the success of Bush administration is not mentioned and discussed on Obama TV as a part of the change. (Another example, is the OP where there is no word about it.)

The report names the current recession situation in the US (caused by the US elected officials) to be the primary near-term security concern, and it is quite obvious that Obama’s team in difference form Muslims has a lot more financial and political weapons in accomplishing the task of bringing the US to collapse. Certainly Obamomists at this moment represent more immediate treat to the security than Muslims.

The report still reminds that with all said Muslims are still a permanent and a long running treat ( barbarians are still at the gates) ; it is obvious that they will use success of Osama’s team in accomplishing their task when another 9/11 will cause the resonance not leaving any chance for us.

As usual don1 digs brings a very important topic to discussion, but people rather prefer to read and discuss and defend Phelps smoking marijuana photo and attack the Catholic Pope and Christians, - which is another sure sign of degradation of American society, another step leading to collapse.

    Thanks, don anyway.

Muslim is a pretty broad term.
I know some Muslims who do not wish for American collapse, as it would lead to the collapse of their household as well.

I've known some Muslims who have aspirations to come to an American University... I don't think they wish for her to collapse in the meanwhile.

If you are using inductive reasoning, then it's not working.

    Muslims =
‘’The groups with the greatest capability to threaten are extremist Muslim groups’’

I call them Muslims for short, I think everyone knows what I mean. I am sorry I am sacrificing PC for briefness. Actually I am not sorry, - it is your 2nd post here – have you read the report and do you have anything to say on the topic except for pointing to my misspelling, -- or it is as usual, - how many posts have you made on DP?

I agree with your observations on Obama and company's actions that seem to do everything to disarm the United States against terrorists in so many ways. Some of the reversals that Obama has effected in his brief tenure as President have obliterated successful protective actions for the U.S. during Bush's post-911 years. I am not a fan of many of Bush's actions, but his defense of this country is hard to deny over the last 7 or so years. Just look around the globe at other countries that didn't have as good a grip on anti-terrorism policies to see where we could have been.

I did not vote for Obama, but I had a some glimmer of hope after he won that a family man might "take the bull by the horns" and become a leader who would protect his people and do what's best for his family as well. Already, I see in his executive orders, his misdirection ploys, and his secrecy that the glimmer of hope is fading fast!
    Obama lied... Ambassador Stevens died!

um i agreed with your previous post. Is it really that much more difficult to take the time to discern between Extreme Muslims and moderates? It's not a cause of misspelling, as it's a case of you being unclear-- Debating is about being as clear as possible.

Why would my post count matter?

I type with one finger, it is difficult. Then if to step on the slippery slope of PC Extreme Muslims would also have to be explained and countedand moderate would also have to be explained and counted and the method of differenciation would also have to be explained .

Your post count is the proportion between how many of then conribute to the topic and how many don't -we already had the count once, didn't we?
Thank you for your input in the post above, I am always willing to scratch an old counting and start from one again.

I find it astonishing how many Muslims that you imply that you seem to know. Are you Muslim? If not, I find it highly suspicious. Nevertheless, it's irrelevant if they tell you they don't want a US collapse, because Muslims have been known to promote the premise that the Koran makes it okay to lie to your enemy, and why would they tell an American (assuming you are) that they wish a US collapse? So your data points are worthless.

I don't agree that jihadist Islam is at all extreme within Islam. Why do you accept that jihadi Islamism constitutes some extreme form of Islam?
