Report: Baseball Star Alex Rodriguez Tested Positive for Steroids in 2003

NEW YORK Sports Illustrated has reported that Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in 2003.

The magazine says in a story posted on its Web site Saturday that the New York Yankees star tested positive for two anabolic steroids. SI cited four unidentified sources.

SI reports that Rodriguez's name appears on a list of 104 players who tested positive for performance-enhancers in a 2003 baseball survey.

Rodriguez declined to discuss the tests when approached by SI on Thursday at a Miami gym. He told a reporter to speak to the players' union. Calls from SI to union head Donald Fehr were not returned.

Arod juiced? never! I wonder if any of the stars I like are on that list, I'll be very sad if any are.

I bet there was a whole generation of star baseball players who were on steroids.

    It is slightly ridiculous.

So much for all the fawning sports casters going "oh oh, that juicing Barry may have the record now but our love, our savior, the great A-Rod whose pure and clean will pass him before its done".

Perhaps we should have a separate sports league where all players are allowed to do as many illegal performance enhancing substances as they want. I'm sure it would make for wonderful ratings.

There is no reason to believe he was juicing. Ephedrine and Adderall are both "performance enhancing substances"...

Blood doping is not considered steroids, although it is most definitely performance enhancing.

That's the most depressing part. Who's left that could do it cleanly?

    My money's on Evan Longoria.

Update: He did in fact test positive for AAS; two substances known as Primobolan and Testosterone.

This stack is pretty common among athletes because desired results can be achieved with low doses.

An asterisk just isn`t enough, and maybe baseball is getting more...empty stadiums! Mr. clean,"Pete Rose", sure packed em in. Gambler or not, he looked more normal,... flying through the air, head first, steroid free...for the team and fans.

Baseball has quickly become as big of a joke as "Professional" wrestling.

Steroids are the most abused drug in the U.S.,that was brought up on 60 minutes at least 10 years ago.
And that was mostly with kids under 18,with parents providing it for their future Hall Of Famers in pro sports.
They estimated around 20 million kids were using it then.I doubt that it's gotten any better since then.
But that's OK, even if it is against the law.
