State employee: I get $93,803 for no work

What an awesome job. I'm jealous as all hell. Even if the guy says he's bored, why doesn't he start doing something to pass the time? Bring a laptop and start a business or a nonprofit. Hell, get another job to do online while you're sitting in the office.

that's what I was thinking. he should be double-billing. he sounds like a moron.

I wonder at this story, I also wonder how many others who have offended the various Politicians are similarly affected.

I'm not surprised by it. It wasn't over offending a politician, but when I was at the Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, there was a PHS captain who had an office in the basement with a phone that could not dial outside the agency and no internet service. He didn't even have a filing cabinet. I was told he had basically pissed someone off and so he had everything ripped out from under him and that was where he would spend his work life until retirement.

I never would have even known the guy was there except a message came for him one day to the front reception area and Toyoko asked to me to take it to him when I walked past.
 
How strange, no one seems remotely bothered at this waste of both Money and resources.
Guess it is true that Americans are overpaid.

It's NY State Government. He could be getting paid to murder orphans and it STILL wouldn't be the worst budgetary decision of the year.

I think the reason may be that it costs less to keep Government employees than it does to fire them.

There is a reason for a bloated Government Bureaucracy; Union work rules protect the ineffective and derelicts. I don't suggest that ALL Government workers are like this, my wife is a hard working employee of local County Government, but there are a vast pool of workers just like this that sit around with basically not much to do all day while others do their work.
