Same here, which is why I think that the blame should fall on multiple parties.

But in the end, the only people who suffer are the good homeowners. The one's who didn't overbuy, didn't try to funagle that which they didn't deserve. Teh banks get bailed out, the foreclosed people got to live in houses they didn't deserve, all the while people who actually didn't have their heads up their asses are seeing their property values tank and their ability to ammend the situation dissapear.

I'm upside down on my place now, even though I was one of the first to buy in the building and got the cheapest price. I've got a foreclosure that was destroyed by the owner across the hall from me selling for 30K less than I bought my place for and it's been sitting like that for months.

The bank got bailed out, and the owner of that place got away with every single thing of value in the unit while I'm sitting here having lost 30K on mine because I was honest and had integrity.

Was talkin' to my cuz who is a Process Server in Pinellas and Hillsboro County and he said he served more foreclosure papers in the last 6 months than he has in the last 10 years. But he said they have slowed down lately.

that would probably due to the plea to let people stay in their houses for the holidays
I am sure it is ready to ramp up again. Plus towards the end of this year we got all those Jumbo loans resetting their interest rates

The problem is that many of the things being done (avoiding foreclosures, bailing out banks, etc) are already hurting good people.

No matter what the good people get ****ed in this situation because the ****heads are getting rewarded for being ****heads. This causes more people to act like ****heads. In the end, the guy/gal who flat-out refuses to be a ****head will bear the brunt of the burden.

And although I, for one, would rather bear the brunt of the burden than be a ****head, it still sucks balls that these people are getting away with, and being rewarded for, being ****heads.

There was a lot of talk about a 120 day moratorium on evictions. I guess that never happened.

It's probably best that people stay in their homes and pay what they can. And why evict anybody if you don't have someone ready to move in. Isn't it better to get some money on a loan rather than no money?

I remember prior to getting elected Obama was saying that banks that partake in the bailout should put a moratorium on evictions. I think he suggested at least 90 days.

But the key word there was SHOULD and not MUST or OBLIGATED or anything that means anything. Should is a suggestion, easily ignored. Though if he were serious and congress was serious they could have wrote that stuff into the bailout contracts.

Simplle rule of thumb. You can only afford a home that values at 2.5 times your yearly household income.

If someone only makes 2K a month (24k a year), they damned well knew they could't afford a $400,000 home the moment they decided they wanted it.

I have no pity for these fools even if they got stated loans. Only a complete retard would think their 24K per year means they should own a 400K home.
I completely agree. These people dug themselves into their financial hole.

There needs to be regulations put into place so those that can afford to not loose their home with a little creative help can keep it so that I, someone who responsibly bought, am not seeing a loss in value of my home due to a bunch of idiots that can't afford the houses they happen to buy in my neighborhood.

There you go. Least squatting is somewhat better than tearing the house to shreds and leaving with a big f-u to the banks and your neighbors I suppose.
